A Mother and Daughter's journey, that was worth every second!!!

Chapter 11

♧Melanie ♧

So that was it our little girl was named Jessy, I knew now that me and Stephen won't be able to live without our little Jessy as I sit here looking at them . Stephen eyes are locked on Jessy and I wish I could read his mind right now I can see the love and tenderness for this little baby in his arms written all over his face.

a Month went by before they appeared again, and by now we didn't want to part from Jessy anymore as she was like our own and we had her with us for most of her life.

It was a Friday afternoon and luckily Stephen was home this time.

So Stephen looked at me and said.

" Melanie honey we should sit down and seriously speak to this people about keeping Jessy and allowing them to visit her or her to visit them from time to time, that way her life will be stable and we will know our responsibility towards her and we can start planning on her future and give her a loving family and home. Don't you think that will be the best thing to do?"

I'm holding Jessy with tears in my eyes being afraid to give her back to them and she will feel that she is in a strange place between people she don't really know and I don't want that for her.

I finally snap out of my thoughts as I listen to Stephen's suggestion.

" Stephen I think that will be best for her she needs a stable home with people she's used to and will take good care of her please let's talk to them"

Then there the knock on the door.....

I looked at Melanie and saw the pain and fear in her eyes and I knew we should finalize this situation today once and for all if they decide to take Jessy even now while she's so small it will already break me and Melanie completely, but this had to be done . If we wait any longer I don't know what will happen.

I went over to the front door to answer on the knock.

" Good evening, it's good to see you please come inside"

I told the couple and point them to the lounge where Melanie was giving Jessy her bottle.

They both went to sit down next to each other on the double sofa without even greeting Jessy.

" Amber you and sorry man I didn't catch your name yet ,but you can say hallo to your daughter if you like"

I said quickly.

But Amber looked at me and finally said.

" Sorry we are horrible people this is my husband Charles I know we've known each other for a while now but we just didnt think to exchanging names goodness that's terrible, thanks but that's okay Stephen let Melanie finish feeding her ."

So Charles reached out his hand for a formal introduction and I took his hand and said " Good to finally put a name to your face"

And he laughed saying " Good to finally know a man by his name."

Melanie was done feeding Jessy and she also changed her nappy quickly so that she can give little Jessy to them so they can say hallo to her and make them something to drink, she walked over to Amber handing Jessy to her and said.

" I'm making some coffee can I offer you some?"

They both answered at ones

" Yes please 3 sugars 1 coffee."

" Coming right up"

Melanie replied and made her way to the kitchen.

With her there I thought I will start the conversation not really knowing what will be the best way to do so, so I sit in silence for a little while and I think I should start with the naming part and we can see how they take that and we can continue from there.

" So Charles and Amber what do you guys think about the name Jessica for our little princess?"

With me saying that Melanie return from the kitchen with the tray of cups in her hands she placed the tray on the coffee table and hand each of us a cup of coffee and take a seat next to me.

After she's seated Charles said.

" Well I think that is a beautiful name for her , what do you think Amber?"

He turned to look at her and she nodded her head and said.

" Well that's just perfect I love it."

" Melanie and I also thought so and we call her Jessy for short I really hope you guys understand we didn't want to leave her completely nameless. "

Amber answered.

" No Stephen we don't mind at all that is a perfect name."

So I sit here with most of the conversation still laying heavy on my chest but I knew this must be done the sooner the better so I got myself together and shifted a little foward in my chair a little nervous not knowing what will happen after this but I continue..

..

" Charles and Amber this is no easy thing to discuss but me and Melanie spoke about this and I think this will be best for everyone and for little Jessy , so we thought that maybe you can consider that Jessy can stay with me and Melanie permanently we won't ask you to pay towards anything and you guys can come and visit her anytime you want or we can make arrangements for her to go visit you. I just think this will be in best interest of the child as you guys are always on the road and busy working and you both know we will give Jessy the best we possibly can and she will have a loving and stable home. I'm not pushing you to do anything you don't want to at all what I'm asking is for you to think about it and talk to each other and come back to us and tell us honestly what you think."

It felt like a mountain moved off my chest as I finished getting it all out there but now I feel this wave over me not knowing what to expect.

Charles looked up and told Amber to follow him outside. Melanie is looking at me with a million questions in her eyes and all I can think is f**k I just keep my fingers cross that I didn't f**k everything up.Amber got up giving Jessy to Melonie and followed Charles outside to the front porch.

Me and Melanie just sit here now in silence I think we are both so stressed out about how this will play out that we just sit with our own thoughts. My mind is just praying and hopping that I did the right thing as Melanie is sitting staring at Jessy kissing her tiny little hands and telling her no matter what happens I will always love you with every single breath I take little angel.

But after a while the couple returned now both me and Melanie sit up straight waiting for them to say something they went back to their dubbel sofa and Charles finally started....

" Well Melanie and Stephen me and Amber did speak about this and we have decided that it would be in Jessy's best interests to let her stay with you guys but we will visit her regularly and let her visit us.Thank you both so much for giving Jessy a life she deserves."

I feel all the life that just left me waiting on their answer streaming back into me with so much excitement I can barely control my feelings. Melanie looks like she want's to jump out of her skin and I can see her eyes filled with tears of joy as she just kiss Jessy's hands again.

Amber stood up and said.

"Melanie when we came here we wanted to asked you if she could stay longer as we are moving closer to were our works offices are situated and we can not move with a small baby with us so we won't be taking her with us tonight thank you for being a wonderful mother to our little baby"

and she signaled Charles to stand up so they can get going. Charles got up saying.

" Yes thank you both for being great parents to Jessy we should get going we need to pick up our daughter from Amber's mother before eight and we have a lot to do tomorrow. "

With that Melanie got up taking Jessy closer so they can say goodbye to her and she answered.

"Amber being a mother was only a dream for me up until today it will be my absolute honor to be the best mother to my ability to our little Jessy . I don't want to take her out in the cold would you mind saying goodbye here and Stephen will walk you out. And thank you again giving us the greatest gift in the world."

They both went closer and layed a kiss on Jessy's forehead and said ofcourse we don't want Jessy catching a cold and the three of us head out the door to the little red car I greated them and thanked them for trusting us to bring Jessy up to the best of our ability. And they got in the car and I just couldn't wait to get back in the house to celebrate this extremely exciting moment with Melanie and Jessy.

I think this was the most stressful night of my entire life I've never felt so nervous about anything in my life , when Stephen left the house with Amber and Charles the tears of joy and relief just start running from my cheeks I just kissed Jessy all over and thanked God for making us parents and giving us this amazing opportunity and responsibility of raising this perfect little innocent baby girl . He gave this little princess to us I believe.

Stephen came in the door locking it behind him he walked up to me and Jessy pulling me with her in my arms on his lap holding the both of us close to his chest and he layed closer giving us each a kiss on the top of our heads without saying a word . We both felt so much joy there was no words to describe this experience.
