Chapter 1: THE PROPHECY

300 Words
In the land of Valyria, where the sun dipped into the horizon and painted the sky with hues of crimson and gold, the Targaryen family awaited the arrival of their newest member. Queen Lyra Targaryen, wife of King Arin and descendant of the legendary dragonlords, lay in her chambers, her belly swollen with child. The maesters and wise women of the realm had foreseen the birth of this child, a daughter who would be born with a special gift – the power to communicate with dragons. They called her Marina, which meant "of the sea" in the ancient tongue, for it was said that she would rule over the Seven Kingdoms with a fierce and gentle touch, like the waves of the ocean. As the queen's labor pains intensified, the castle's residents held their breaths in anticipation. The king, a just and fair ruler, paced outside the chamber doors, his heart filled with excitement and worry. His wife's safety was paramount, but so was the fate of their unborn child, destined to play a crucial role in the future of their kingdom. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, a cry echoed through the halls, and the queen's maester, a wise and aged man named Eryndor, emerged from the chamber with a smile on his face. "The queen has given birth to a beautiful, healthy daughter," he announced to the king and the gathered courtiers. "And, as the prophecy foretold, the child bears the mark of the dragon on her hand." The king rushed into the chamber, his eyes locking onto the tiny, squirming form in his wife's arms. Marina, the future dragon Empress, gazed up at him with eyes that shone like the stars on a clear night, and Arin knew that their world was about to change forever.
