It felt unreal watching Jed hurl words at me with no care in the world. Of course, I had known he was vile and cruel but I didn't think it was this bad. I could feel my cheeks begin to get hot and red and I struggled to keep the tears that were threatening to pour at bay.
"Little wonder why you don't have any friends, I can bet you had none in your previous town too. That's why you had to run away because no one would accept you and I bet everyone had seen through your deceit," this was the straw that broke the camel's back.
