Anastasia’s POV By morning, I already regretted agreeing to let Silas handle things because I forgot that handling things involved Jed and Jed clearly hated me. I stood outside the house with my backpack hanging from one shoulder while checking the time on my phone for what felt like the hundredth time. “He’s doing this on purpose,” I muttered under my breath. The school day had already started fifteen minutes ago and there was still no sign of Jed. I sighed heavily and glanced toward the house again. Part of me wanted to just go back inside and ask Mom to drive me instead. Five more minutes passed, fortunately Jed’s black car pulled up in front of me. The smug expression on his face immediately irritated me. He rolled down the passenger window slightly. “You getting in or what?”
