The Cure

"You know how to cure it, Avy?" Miary asks me as I signed 'shh' since I feel like someone is watching us outside the window so I whispered to her that 'I know'.

" I don't know if I could trust you about the medicine but I'll take the risk so I'll ask you to help me, Avy," He said as he looked at me with determination so I smiled at him.

"No need to ask me, Your Highness. I am here to show my gratitude for helping, my Lady," I said so he smiled at me as he says 'thank you,' while Lady Miary was looking at me with her teary eyes.

"What do you need? so I can arrange it," He asks me.

"If possible I need it right away, your Highness. It would be better to have it now or within this day." I told him.

" I cannot promise that what you are looking for was in my palace but I will do whatever to have it," He said so nod.

"I need the hundred-year-old red lily and the white tiger fangs, and lastly, the diamond stone that we got from the hunting 2 years ago that I can use," I said, I know it is not easy to have this but I am hoping that they have it.

"I have the diamond stone but I am not sure if we have the 2 you are looking for," He said as he rings the bell and Kerz comes inside the room, and Prince Renz commands Kerz to get the ingredients that I am asking for.

"Is that all?" He asks me after Kerz went outside.

"Yes, so for now, your Highness should rest well," I said as I stood up and left them.

"Sir Dravis lead me to the kitchen," I said to Dravis who is looking at me puzzled.

"If you are hungry, I can tell the maids to get food for you, and I am guarding now," He said but I just dragged him.

"I am not hungry. I am going to cook for his Highness that he could take in," I whispered to him since the maids are so suspicious. 

"How did you know that he can't eat well?" He answered in a whisper.

"Well, I just know," I said while pulling him when I said that someone is guarding him at the door so he came with me since I let Ash guard the door inside in shadows.

"What are you going to cook?" He asks me when we arrive at the kitchen and let the cooks get out.

"I'm going to cook my special mushroom soup," I said since it is better for Renz to take in soft food.

"Special Mushroom soup,?" He repeated as he was looking at me puzzled.

"Yep, so help me to prepare the ingredients since I know you didn't forget the ingredients," I said moreover he looked at her with a defiant look as he smirks.

"Of course," He said as he also started taking the utensils he will use while I prepared the mushrooms he will cook since I am going to make his nutritional drinks. 

"After that, you cook it," I said when I saw that he had prepared everything and he looked at me.

"I thought you will be going to cook this?" He asks.

"Hmm. I have something to do first so you will cook it and I'll take it for seasoning," I said as I take out the apples and citrus.

"Okay," He said as he started to cook.

After an hour, we are done. I seasoned the mushroom soup with the herbs that I got from the Collins state. I put the mushroom soup in a soup bowl and the drinks that I've made. Dravis also tasted the drinks that I made and he said it tastes good as he gets the ingredients from me. He was left to clean up there and I left first. I am in front of the door as I knock when the physician stops me as he asks me about the food.

" His Highness will not be going to eat something done by an unknown person especially if it is not the chef of these state," He said as he looks at the covered food in the trolley.

"Well, this was cooked by Sir Dravis, Imperial Physician," I said, as I tried to open the door when he still blocking my way and I am starting to get annoyed.

"Let him in," Dravis told the physician so he did nothing but to let me enter as I smirk at him and he looked at me seriously.

"Your Highness, I brought you food," I said as I prepare it and Lady Miary assisted me.

"I can't eat," He said.

"I know, I know but you should at least taste what I've cooked (lies, since Dravis cooked it)," I said as I handed him the spoon.

"I assumed that you know that I have not eaten well," He said as I nod in response as he tasted.

"Do you feel like vomiting?" I asked him and he shakes his head.

"No, how come when every time I tried to eat something, I can't eat it except for that the physician gave me," He said. I think the physician is a lackey of the empress to monitor his condition.

"Is that so? Of course, I put something on the soup," I said while smirking as I look at him.

"What did you put? A secret recipe, perhaps?" He asks while Lady Miary looked at me curiously while waiting for my answer.

"I put my ..." I said as they seriously looked at me.

"my L.O.V.E," I said, Renz suddenly released what he was eating when he heard my answer since he is still eating while her Grace was disappointed or it is more she didn't expect my answer.

"Of course, I am joking," I said when they didn't utter a word, as they reacted when I said I was just joking.

"Don't joke like that, Avy," Lady Miary told me as she was helping Renz to clean the remaining drops of the soup on his blanket.

"I just want to make you laugh since the both of you looks so serious but I think I have no talent for making people laugh," I said as I laugh a little as I looked at them and they look each other as they laughed so I wondered as I look at them why they are laughing.

"Pfft, haha haha"

"Did I say anything funny?" I asked them so they stop laughing.

"Nothing, we are just happy that you are trying to make us laugh but you look so cute when you act like an innocent puppy," She said so I immediately look away because I felt my cheeks getting hot.

"I didn't know you have this kind of side, Avy." Prince Renz told me so I couldn't even look at them and they laughed at me again.

"Don't make fun of me, Your Highness and her Grace," I said as I pouted.

"Then, what did you put in his meal today?" She asks me while Prince Renz just waited for my answer.

"I just put some amount of the herbs that I have on-hands for him so that he can take in the medicine I am going to make," I said as I handed the apple juice to Prince Renz, and he accepts it.

"Does this too have herbs in it?" He asks as he examines the apple juice.

"Yes, Your Highness. Drink it." I said but he just stared at it.

"Come on, it's not poisoned," I said.

"It's not that, but don't you think that it tastes bad since it has medicinal herbs in it?" He said like a kid who dislikes the bitter taste.

"Are you a kid?" I said as he shakes his head while Lady Miary chuckled. He drinks the apple juice but then he makes a bitter face so I get the apple juice and drink it if it tastes bad.

"It tastes good, Your Highness so why are you making that face?" I ask after I drink in his cup.

"Avy, does the apple juice is sweet?" She asks me so I nod.

"Prince Renz is not fond of sweets," She said as she handed Renz a glass of water.

"Is that so? Well, sweets can help him though," I said as I pouted even it is a half-lie though.

"I'll drink it," Renz said when I was about to add water to his drinks to control the sweetness.

"Really?" I said and immediately looked at him.

"Yes, since you make it for me then I should not waste it," He said.

"Is it really okay, Your Highness,?" She asks him worried.

"Yes, don't worry. I will not die," He said to her Grace.

"Don't push yourself, Your Highness," I said as I add water to the apple juice and gave it to him.

"Alright," He said as he drinks the apple juice but then he started to vomits blood. 

"Are you alright?!" I said and supported Renz.

"What is happening to him, Avy?" She asks me.

"The poison is acting again," I answered Miary. "Ash, make this room normal from outside and make sure to prevent anyone coming in except for Dravis and Kerz," I commanded Ash as he showed his appearance since it is really getting bad. The Prince's condition is really bad that he should take the medicine as soon as possible. 'I understand, Master' Ash answered.

"Lady Miary, go help Kerz to get the medicine or it's going to be late," I said to her and she nods as she went out after she helps Prince Renz to lay down.

"Does it really bad?" He asks me with his eyes closed.

"Yes, but don't worry when you wake up you will be fine," I said as I make him sleep so that he can't feel the pain though he did not say it was painful as he was enduring it so that he will not make the people around him worry.

"Your Highness! Your Highness!" The physician keeps on knocking as if he knows that the poison is acting again They keep on knocking on the door but unfortunately, Ash was there to stop them from opening the door. I opened the door that I was the only one they could see and I looked at him badly as Dravis prevented him from entering.

"His Highness is sleeping so if you have nothing to say keep your mouth shut," I said in a cold way as Dravis take him away since I might lose my patience and close the door.

'Kerz and the Lady are coming in, Master' Ash told me.

"Okay," I said as I bring out all the medicinal herbs from my bag. I just heard the door open.

"We got the ingredients that you needed," Lady Miary said as she handed me the two ingredients and Kerz handed me the diamond stone.

"Is that all?" Kerz asks me.

"I need something where I can grind these (pointing the medicinal herbs and the hundred-year-old red lily and the white tiger fangs)" I said as Kerz says that he will get it so he went out as for Lady Miary I told her to keep on eye on Prince Renz in case he woke up. I prepared the herbs in place as I soak with hot water.

I finished doing the first work of the medicine by extracting the herbs with hot water and Kerz arrived just in time with the thing that I was going to use. 

"I heard from Lady Miary that his Highness's poison is acting again, is it really that bad?" He asks me as he put it on the table.

"Yes, so we need to make the antidote as soon as possible since I don't think he can last until tomorrow," I said as I grind the fangs with the red lily.

"What?!" He said so I said that lower down his voice since I didn't tell Lady Miary.

"Shh, that's why I am going to make it right away," I said as he nods as he helps me grinding the ingredients.

I brewed the red lily and fangs with the hot water that I used with the herbs for 4 hours. Prince Renz has not woken up since before even the magic I cast in him wore off 2 hours ago so I went to check him. He was breathing but somethings wrong since even though I tried to wake him up but he won't. Lady Miary and Kerz looked at me anxiously as I woke Renz up.

"Don't worry, he is still breathing but it seems like his body won't cooperate since the poison in his body was already occupied his system," I said as Lady Miary started to cry while Kerz's expression that I can't read since he knows what I mean.

"Kerz, take Lady Miary to the other room, I am going to start healing him. Don't come in until I said so and make sure that the physician is not around." I said as he nods while escorting Lady Miary as they went out.

I let them out since I can't show them my magic to finish the antidote using magic but it will take so much mana. I managed to make it as I take a rest for a bit before I can feed it to him. After 15 minutes, I went to Renz to give him the antidote but then I was having a problem since he was sleeping so he can't drink it. I tried to make him drink him while holding his head and open his mouth but it won't go in.

"How I wish I have an injection or dextrose," I said as I lowered his head to the pillow because my hand was already numb and I was thinking about how I could give him a drink.

"Ugh, I don't want to do it but--"
