"Roasted animals," I answered him as I looked at the food in front of me and I swallowed.

"Let's eat before the food gets cold," He said, so I immediately ate what was on my plate and tasted the various dishes in front of me.

"It seems like you didn't eat for how many days," He commented as he sips to his wine.

"Not really, it's just I miss this kind of food since all I have to eat are roasted wild animals in the forest," I said after I swallow the food in my mouth.

"How many days you are eating those?"

"It's been a year, I think," I said.

"A year... What a year?!" He said as he wipes his mouth since he almost throws up the wine that he is drinking.

"Yep, so thank you for feeding me," I said as I take a sip on my wine too.

"No need to thank me since it's not free, you need to pay for it," He said so I throw up the drink that I was drinking and immediately turned to him. I thought he changes a little since he didn't see for years but I think it is really hard to change in just 2 years.

"What?!" I said to him but he just continues to eat as if I was not there.

"So, you have to work very since I am paying for you now," He said as he smirks at me. Really this guy is getting into my nerves but he has a point since I need money right now.

" Fine," I said as I continue drinking since it is been a while when I drink a glass of wine and it is really delicious.

"It seems you are enjoying it," He commented so I looked at him.

"Of course, I miss this feeling since I've been living like a traveler for a while so yeah, I am enjoying it," I said as I swirl the wine in the wine glass.

"I can see that since you act barbaric until now though I didn't take it much because you are a commoner so it is understandable," He said, he will not really change on insulting although he has been like that-.-.

"Yes, yes. I know, a commoner like me is lacking in etiquette even though I was a former knight but since I am a commoner they look down on me for whatever even if I did my best but it was not enough for them because I am not a noble." I said, and I think I am tipsy so it's better to go to sleep.

"..." He didn't say anything so I drink up my wine as I stood up.

"I have to go, Marquess. Thank you for the food and Good night." I said as I left him even though I was a little dizzy and fortunately I was able to return to my room as I lay down on my bed. 

~~Ronan's Pov:

"Yes, yes. I know, a commoner like me is lacking in etiquette even though I was a former knight but since I am a commoner they look down on me for whatever even if I did my best but it was not enough for them because I am not a noble." He said as he was looking at me and I can see the pain in his eyes as he says that. I feel guilty after listening to him even though I didn't mean to say that so I didn't say anything. I also noticed that he was a bit tipsy so maybe that was also a trigger for his emotions and when he stood up he was a bit down but he still walks straight.

I am really curious where he had been since Lady Miary told us that she sent him on a mission but she didn't tell us specifically as we let it slide a month after he left. After 6 months, she didn't receive a letter from him so she was really worried about Avy's whereabouts and that's when Prince Renz help her to investigate and surprisingly Ian volunteered when he doesn't usually help without Prince Renz commands him. No progress on his whereabouts even after a year and Miary still waiting for a letter but no letter. She also thinks that something bad might happen to him and not thinking the worst which is she will found out that Avy is dead somewhere else.

However, while I was strolling somewhere as I ditching some errands since I was stressed out by the Empress orders when I bumped into him. I don't have a plan to take him when I saw him but then he looks okay so I want to play with him for a bit. I looked at him since he was wearing rubbish clothes as if he were a refugee and I notice that he grows a little than the last time but he still petite like a woman. So, I think of a reason for him to work for me since my attendant is gone because his wife gave birth so I'll have him as my temporary attendant. 

"Why did I say that?" I said as I look at the ceiling. I stood up to check on him since he might be sleeping in the hallway. 

"Does he went in his room safe?" I murmured since I saw nothing in the hallway so I went to his room. I slowly open it when a wolf appeared in front of me so I back away.

"Woah, isn't it the magical beasts in the forest 2 years ago, is it?" I said as he is looking at me as if he was ready to chew me up.

"Ash? Ronan?" Avy said as he rubbing his eyes while I can see his neck and cleavage since his clothes are too big so I look away because it's too distracting that he looks like a woman.

~~End Ronan's Pov.

"Ash? Ronan?" I said as I wake up since I heard some noise and saw them facing each other as Ronan look away as soon as he looks at me.

"Why is this magical beast here?" He asks me as he looks at Ash in front of him.

"Well, he is Ash, and he is my magical beast since he has chosen me last 2 years ago," I answered as I yawned.

"How come when you didn't try?" He curiously asks me.

"I don't know," I said as I stood up and pat Ash's head to calm him down. "Ash, it's okay," I told Ash so he goes back to his smaller version.

'fine,' he answered.

"By the way, why are you here?" I ask him so he looked away.

"I just check on you since you are tipsy and I thought you were sleeping somewhere. I have to go." He said as he went out of my room.

"Let's sleep," I said to Ash as I hugged him since he was so fluffy.

'Could you let go of me since I am not a pillow,' he said but I ignore him and still hugging him.

I woke up with a knock but I want to sleep more since only now have I slept softly on the bed unlike when I was in traveling my back is always hurting. I ignore the knocks as I sleep more but I immediately get up when I heard Ronan's voice calling me and he didn't try to open it again because of what happened yesterday with Ash. 

"Good Morning, Sir Alfinus," I said after I open the door.

"Do you know what time it is?" He asks me so I wondered what time it was since I don't have any clock with me so I don't know.

"I don't know," I said as I look at him since he looks annoyed.

"It's already 10 am and it's been 2 hours when they keep on calling you," He said as he clicks his tongue.

"That late?! I am very sorry, Sir Alfinus I overslept," I said as I bow down.

" I'll let it slide for now but you will work until midnight today and no breakfast," He said as he smiled that I feel shivered and I followed him to his office. I didn't argue with him for not having breakfast since we will soon have lunchtime.

"Let's get started since you have to finish that before you will have your lunch Avy," He said after he sat down at his table and pointed to the papers lying on the chair as he smiled at me again as if he knows what I'm thinking that I didn't argue with him about the breakfast. It makes me think that his attendant is miserable since he suffers like this too but at the same time, I am praising him because he didn't quit even knowing this guy is not that nice.

"Y-es, of course, Sir Alfinus," I said as I start to work on separating the documents from his business affairs, political affairs, and so on.

We worked quietly since he was silent while he was reading and signing papers and he looks really stressed out but I don't think I should worry about him since it is out of my concern. I separate the papers faster since I am hungry and I only have half to separate so I will hurry if I do not want to starve until night.

Only the sound of papers what you can hear inside Ronan's office when my stomach suddenly sounds loud because I am so hungry. I looked at the clock and it is almost 4 pm in the afternoon as I accidentally look at Ronan. I looked away because of the embarrassment that my stomach sounded.

"Tell the butler to prepare for our lunch," He said so I stood up and told the butler outside the office since he didn't also eat for lunch though.

"Thank you, sir Alfinus," I said since I didn't finish my task but he let me eat lunch.

"I just don't want someone to die here because of hunger since it will be a pain in the a*s," He said as he removes his eyeglasses since he was wearing eyeglasses when he is signing papers that make him more handsome but his attitude is the problem.

"Ah, is that so," I answered while thinking that there is nothing wrong when he says he feels sorry for me. 

We went to the dining area when the butler said that the lunch is already ready. I eat as much as I could since I didn't eat breakfast but Ronan didn't eat much because he was reading something while we are eating.

"Don't you think you should eat first if you are at the table," I said as I drink water.

"Are you worried about me?" He said while lowering the paper he was holding so I saw him grinning at me.

"Ah, no. Do what you want to do since it's not my concern," I said and said I will go back first since I am done eating. 

"Even though, I don't like you still I don't like seeing a person who can't eat properly because they are busy with their work," I said with a worried tone while I was back in his office. Again, I remembered my mom that doing that she ended up going to the hospital so I don't really like seeing a person who is neglecting eating when eating is essential for the body.

Avy didn't know, Ronan followed him after he left the dining area. Ronan felt something new to him after he heard what he said such as happiness and doubtful since no one else was concern about him aside from the Crown Prince and Miary who are his childhood friends, and Avy who is a complete stranger worry about him even though he treats him poorly. However, it reminds him of his past experiences that's why he is so mean to everyone and he ended up having no friends because he was betrayed and being abused.

When I entered his office, I immediately started my work again and I accidentally read a document about the palace which was the emperor fell ill since a year ago. I immediately covered that document with another piece of paper when I heard the door open and I knew Ronan had entered. He went to his table as he started to read the files that I arrange a while ago. He didn't talk as if I was not around him so I didn't speak anymore and just did my job. 

After some time, a knock breaks the silence in the room as I look on the door since the butler went in and telling us that dinner is ready and without saying a word Ronan stood up without a document on his hands unlike a while ago he has a few papers on his hands. I got up to follow him and we went straight to the dining area. 

"Thank you for the food," I said before I ate and I looked at Ronan and he was already eating so I was wondering that he is eating well today. 

"Eat this too," I said as I put the desert on his empty plate since I notice that he didn't eat his dessert for lunch. His maids and the butler was surprised since the butler accidentally let go of the utensils in his hand as they look at me surprisingly.

"You didn't like sweets?" I ask as I look at him, and he looks at me annoyed as he looks at the dessert on his plate.
