Twisted Fate of the Knight

The Hunting Event Part 1

"As I said, I am not gay your Highness. I swear." I deny it because he might say I'm gay even if I don't.

"Is that so? Then, that's a relief." He said in a poker face as he gets his g*n and sword.

"I'm telling you, your Highness. It's true." I told him because of his reaction earlier that you do not know whether he believes it or not as I quickly picked up my belongings and followed him.

He stopped talking and just continued walking towards the front of the hunting ground. Everyone we meet greets him and of course, they looked behind him wondering why he was with me or why I was with the Prince. Judging looks just like 'why is he with the Crown Prince?', 'Isn't he is the knight of Lady Miary?', or looks that resonate with me because I have no identity or I am just a commoner. I just pretended that I didn't see or hear anything since their looks are obvious and you can still hear their whispers even if their conversation is whispering so I don't know if they want me to hear on purpose or if their voices were just loud.

"Avy, just follow me, okay? Never mind those bugs around." He said that it was quite loud to hear what we were going through. I chuckle when he said those bugs which mean those nobles we pass by but I just didn't show or let him hear me even though he was ahead of me.

"Yes, Your Highness," I answered him. All of the participants are gathered for only 15 minutes will start. We are in the front now since I am with Crown Prince and Hanz which I just noticed that he was beside Renz although I saw him a while ago. However, I didn't saw him after the announcement so I do not know where he went to thank him but it seems like not yet time. And I don't think it is good to approach him now since he might not believe me that easily. 

Prince Renz was quiet even though they had already entered and Prince Hanz said goodbye and he just nodded. I don't know who/what is he waiting for, that's why I asked him why we haven't come in yet because we are the only ones left here and the horses we will use. He replied that later we would also leave and he reminded me earlier of what I've said when we are in his camp that it was okay if we were going to be late so I just kept quiet after I nodded and he just smiled at me.

I don't have any choice since I am just his lackey, to begin with. I looked at the black lace given by Lady Miary before they entered the hunting ground. I didn't expect her to make a lace just for me even if not very well is okay since it was her first attempt to make it just for me so I was touched by her effort. She was embarrassed to give it to me earlier because she suddenly threw it at me and fortunately I caught it and she immediately left with Gin. Even the Crown Prince was surprised when we look at what I've caught and he commented that she never give laces even though he had asked Lady Miary before, he said he had not been given so she could not believe that Lady Miary had given me even though I was not asking her. I can see some jealousy in Prince Renz's eyes while he said that and he whispered 'I also want to receive lace from her and we know each other longer' which is just right for me to hear but I pretend that I didn't hear anything since I don't know how to comfort him. 

We have been here for an hour but it seems that Prince Renz has no plans for us to leave and I will not be able to ask again because he might remind me again of what I said when I was in his camp. I stood up when I heard someone coming with the horses and Prince Renz also stood up as he whispered 'at last' with his bored face yawning.

"Your Highness, wake up. You'll be late if you are going to sleep more." He woke up because his attendant did not stop waking him up.

"Okay, okay, I will wake up," he said as he slowly gets up from his bed while rubbing his eyes and obviously still wanting to sleep.

"I already prepare your things, Your Highness." His attendant said to him, and he just nodded in response. He commanded to prepare him a bath but his attendant refuses and saying that he did not have time to take a bath. So, the Prince doesn't have a choice but to clean himself with a towel and water in a basin. 

"We need to hurry, your Highness. We can still make it if we go now." 

"Yes, but let me finish my breakfast first." He answered while enjoying sipping his hot chocolate with mallows. That's why his companion is annoyed because they will be late for hunting.

"You can eat your breakfast in the carriage." he said so that they can already depart but he just answered 'no' because he would spill away what he was drinking if he was in the carriage, so he just sighed because he could not force it to go to the carriage. He gave up to persuade his Highness to depart immediately. 

"Your Highness I think we need to go since we only have an hour before the hunting start, but it takes 3 hours with our carriage so shall we go?." He said as he prepared the carriage.

"We can get there in 2 hours." He said while stretching that's why his attendant was wondering.

"How?" 

"Prepare my sweet baby." He said as he gets his things for hunting.

"Don't tell me we will not ride a carriage." he can't believe what his Highness wants to do.

"Exactly so get my sweet baby." He commanded and his attendant followed him.

Note: 'Sweet baby' is his horse name.

They immediately depart to the Hunting Event. They traveled for almost two hours and could see the flag of the Winter Kingdom. They saw two people and two horses at the entrance of the Hunting grounds. The people inside their camp went out to see who had arrived. You can hear their comment on who is it and who just came but then nobody knows who it is since his face was covered with his hood.

The two-person in front of the Hunting ground stood up as he goes and he removes his hood while the one is looking surprised and the other one has a bored face as if he was already used to him. 

"You always make me wait Kil," he said as he lightly punches him in the head.

"You always make me wait, Kil," said Prince Renz to Kil. I was just surprised to see his face, it's a familiar face from the other day when I almost spend all of my money. I calmed down first since he is Prince Renz's friend because he just calls him by name so they are friends. So, I'll just wait for an opportunity later to pay him back since I can't let him show Prince Renz even though Kil has the one who owes me one.

"By the way, this is Av-" Renz stopped when he was about to introduced Kil to me. 

"Good to see again, Little Avy." he said that's why Renz's face was surprised when Kil greeted me. 'little Avy?' whispered Prince Renz while still wondering.

"What? You already know each other?" He asks the two of us and I answered 'sort of' while Kil answered 'yes' so confidently. So Renz was even more confused because of our answer but Kil just laughed while I am looking blank.

We went to the hunting ground after Prince Renz said that it is good that we already know each other because he no longer needs to introduce us to each other. When we entered, Kil and I parted ways with him and his companion who was also in the shop. He just bid as good luck and Renz said the same thing, and he even tells me 'see you soon, little Avy' before finally getting away from us.

"It seems that both of you became friends," Renz commented as he levels his speed to mine since he was ahead of me.

"Not really, your Highness," I said to him.

"Is that so? How did you meet him?" he asks me while he is still looking straight and I answered him 'it is a long story so in short, I just meet him in an unexpected place and he was a pe--' I just stopped when I almost mentioned his pen name.

"And he was a ?" he asks for the continuation of my answer.

"He was a person who likes sweets," I said because I can't tell him that he is a p*****t since it is his friend.

"Yeah, he likes sweets. How did you know?"

"Well, I saw him in the famous bakeshop in the city," I said so he nodded and fell silent at my answer as if he had thought. I hope he doesn't think that Kil and I are friends because we are not friends but Kil who has a debt from me.

We stopped when suddenly a bear appeared in front of us. I immediately pull my sword on my waist and Renz also pulls his sword as we get down from our horses.

I was about to attack when Renz suddenly stopped me and he said to me to watch and learn since I don't have the experience to hunt so I got annoyed there because I felt insulted there even though I really had no experience in hunting but I read a book on how to hunt especially I was with him.

"Don't underestimate me, Your Highness. I may not have the experience but I can do more than an ordinary knight." I said at the same time attacking the bear and strike his chest part since it was where their magic stone is located. 

"*clap clap* Woah, I'm sorry to underestimate you Avy since you are Lady Miary's knight so I am not supposed to underestimate you but I can't help myself to tease you a little," he said 

"Of course, Your Highness. It is better not to underestimate me because you might regret it." I said as I collect the magic stone.

"Yeah, I guess," he said and rode his horse again so I rode on my horse too because he was already ahead. Although he wanted to leave, at least he should wait for me to get on my horse before going first.

After how many hours we found more magic stones not only bears but also deers, rabbits, foxes, and other animals here. It was afternoon when he decided to rest and said to wait for them. I asked who we were waiting for and he did not speak while he threw something that suddenly lit up.

"We will wait for them with our things in the entrance so rest for now." He said after the light fades out as he sits down on the log. 

"Okay," I said while making a bonfire since it's getting colder as it gets dark. "Wait! What?! waiting for them? we will not be going back?" I said as I turn around in front of him because I did not immediately get what he said.

"Yes, we will not go back. I thought you already know that you usually camp here in the forest," he said while looking at the bonfire. 

"I know but I didn't expect here in the middle of the forest," I said because I thought we would go back to the entrance. 

"Well, we can but it will be a hassle to go back here again and wasting our energy to fight again with those small fries," he said to me while looking seriously so I averted my eyes and stood up to get small branches for the bonfire.

After an hour, Kerz and Dravis were here with our belongings and the materials for our camp. I was shocked because we had a few hours before we got here and they only had an hour so it could be seen the admiration and amazement on my face.
