Aria's Pov I couldn’t sleep. The moment Rico closed my door, the room instantly felt too full — full of his voice, his nearness, the warmth in his eyes when he said he wanted me to feel his apology. I laid on my back, staring at the ceiling like it might help me forget but all it did was replay every second of him standing close enough that I felt his breath on my cheek. My heart hadn’t slowed down a bit so I pressed my palm to my chest, half-annoyed at the rapid thumping. Why was I reacting like this? Why did a simple conversation have my stomach twisting like a teenager’s? But it wasn’t that simple. Not when he looked at me the way he did. Not when the air between us felt charged enough to spark, and definitely not when he said… “our baby” the way he did. The words echoed in my mind
