I barely slept and with the way Aria kept turning, I was sure she didn’t either. She drifted in and out, breathing unevenly and jerking awake every time she heard a door shut or someone’s footsteps in the hallway. And by the time the sun had risen fully, her eyes were swollen and red, and her fingers were still tangled with mine like she was afraid something would snatch me away if she let go.
