30. LATER THAT EVENING, THE FIFTH of November, 2017, Houston, Lyn was weary as she drove up Kirby Drive. She checked her phone at a stop light. Nothing. She threw it on the passenger seat. It wasn’t going to do any good looking at it every minute. Her worry had slipped out of sight while she was consoling Eleanor. But it had returned within two blocks of her departure from Eleanor’s apartment. Her intentions were set, and she would march forward. In the morning, she was driving to San Saba.
