The call came at 2 AM.
Adam was asleep, Sandra beside him, when his phone buzzed on the nightstand. He grabbed it, saw Miller's name, and answered.
“The Henderson case just got bigger.”
“How much bigger?”
“We found a notebook in Paul's motel room. Names. Addresses. Payment records. He wasn't working alone. There's at least six other people involved, hitting survivors across three states.”
“Who's running it?”
“That's the problem. The notebook doesn't have a name at the top. Just a symbol. A black rose.”
