It was nearly seven pm when Keplar got back to his office. He first called Rose and told her he would be late and then called Detective Knutson.
“Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but we have been trying to track down Mr. Knife. He wasn't home or at the work site, so I went back to his home. His car and many of his personal items were gone. It looks like he is on the run,” Knutson explained.
“Could be that he just went fishing or some such thing.”
“Possible, but his foreman said he didn't show up when he usually did at the site,” Knutson said.
