Chapter 10
A half hour after settling into his office, Knutson called.
Sounding very upbeat and cheerful, “Good morning Chief, I have some results that I think might surprise you.”
“Good morning to you Detective. This sounds interesting.”
“You bet. The ballistics show that one of the .38's that were found at Goodley's match the slug pulled out of Joe Center. Making it even more interesting, it looks like Stan Goodley was suffocated. Maybe Goodley shot Center and then someone rubbed him out.”
“Something strange going on here,” Keplar said running his hand through his hair and thinking, I have some long days and nights ahead. “Where do we go from here?”
“One of the things I am scratching my head about is why he had two identical guns in the drawer. It just doesn't make sense. I'
