Tim Shelfly was also headed out to see Gordon, but when he saw the Sheriff parked out front with two familiar cops, he stopped and turned around.
Leaning against the fender of his truck, “Tim came to see me and asked for help.” He then went on and told them the whole story since Tim arrived, leaving out the part about thinking about the two hundred grand.
After he finished the story, Keplar asked, “Any idea where he might be now?”
“I know he found a room at the local motel, but he said he would come see me this morning.”
Swiveling, “Damn, and here we sit in the open,” Knutson said. “Mick, I want you to stay here out of sight and Sheriff, I'd like you to take me to that motel.”
