Howard Knife found a quiet out of the way motel just north of St. Cloud. It was late, but decided to call Tim Shelfly anyway.
“Sunset Bay Resort. What can I do for you?”
“I'm looking for a Time Shelfly. Is he staying there?”
“Yes he is.”
“Can you get him to the phone?”
“Sure, hold.”
Five minutes later, “Hello,” he said suspiciously.
“Tim, this is Howard. We need to talk.”
Sounding relieved, “Thank God it's you. How did you find me?”
“Your foreman gave me this number.”
“Where are you,” Shelfly asked.
“North of St. Cloud. I can come to you.”
“Good, how about tomorrow morning? Do you know where Sunset Bay Resort is on Mille Lacs lake?”
“No, give me directions and I'll find it.”
“Take 23 east out of St. Cloud til you come to 169 and head north to the lake. Wh
