Chapter Two Jas rattled the padlock on the cabinet. It was a simple mechanical device, typical of the underworlders’ dislike and distrust of technology. Luckily for Jas, that meant it would also be simple to break. She lifted up the blaster she was holding, preparing to hit the lock with its handle. “I’m not sure this is a good idea,” said Carl, grabbing her arm before she could bring it down. “Carl, if the underworlders turn against us, we won’t stand a chance unless they’re unarmed.” But her friend’s worries made her pause.
