Jas directed Ozment to park in the alley where she and the others had stopped before their first attempt to kidnap Shadow Bernie.
“Where should we start looking?” he asked.
“The HQ is a couple of streets away, but I can’t go near that place. The Shadows there know me. Out here should be safe enough for a little while. How about you go and check out all around the building? If she’s there, she’ll see you, and maybe she can attract your attention.”
“But you said she went inside? If she’s hurt, wouldn’t she be there?”
