I finally agreed to join Jax and Theo for lunch after the charity event. My heart wouldn’t stop racing the whole way to the cafeteria. I felt incredibly nervous, like I didn’t deserve to be walking beside them.
They were tall, confident, and good-looking. I was just the chubby girl who cleaned their dorm at night. Every step made me more aware of how my body jiggled slightly in my clothes, and I kept wondering why they even wanted me there.
As soon as we stepped into the cafeteria, all eyes turned toward us. Whispers started immediately. I lowered my head, staring at the floor, wishing I could disappear. The tight uniform from earlier was gone, but I still felt exposed. That’s when Theo casually slipped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me closer to his side.
