Chapter 10
Ever found herself on the edge of what appeared to be an infinite, alabaster room. Although there must have been three more walls, Ever could not see them. She supposed this meant they were a long way away. Ever used the wall she was near to steady herself. On the floor there were innumerable pools of darkness separated from each other by a few arm lengths on every side. Suddenly the Man of Sorrows appeared in her vision.
“Where am I?”
“You are in an imaginary space. It symbolizes all of the pools of darkness that hold all the illuminarions in the world,” he explained.
“Why am I here?”
“I wanted to show you that they are many.”
“But why show me?”
“You have helped Dawn by finding her illuminarion, but there are many others who need help. I want you and Dawn to help them.”
