Episode Thirty-nine

1812 Words
ALISDAIR After I finished cleaning her body, I wrapped her in a fur cloth and carried her out of the room. She whispered a few times asking where I was taking her, but I only answered with some soothing words to make her go back to sleep. I finally stepped into my chamber, where I laid her right on my bed before joining in. I cradled her in my arms, brushing my lips against her head and nose, rumouring to her the words I thought she should hear. How beauteous she is, how immaculate, and how perfect. I know she never wished to moan out in pleasure such as earlier to the hearing of others, yet I longed to hear them, wanted to hear how much she relished what I was doing. I should apologize later but I wasn't ashamed, because the moment and everything were worth sinning for. And this moment when she is curled in my arms, her head on my chest, breathing contentedly against me. Where the blanket covered her angelic body yet a portion of the pale skin of her shoulder still showed through. I'd do anything to have this moment. AADYA Came morning, I stir on Al's bed feeling the coldness of the morning. My eyes peeled open as I was no longer feeling the warmth of his body and his strong hand was no longer lingering around me. I rose only to be met by his gaze from where he sat. "You're awake" He rumoured, his eyes watching me tenderly from across the bed. I can't say how much I've hungered for these eyes to be on me every time I woke up in the room I was provided. The memory of the previous evening came flushing down on me and I shy away. I start to feel him drawing closer to me and then I turn, meeting his form barely away from me. “You don't need to get shy around me," He tells me and a shy smile crossed my face. He returned my face to him with his index, "You're leaving with Callen?" I ask in a whispering voice. "I am yet to see him today, but yes, I should," He says. His thumb strokes my jaw while the rest curves to the side of my neck. His breath fanning my nose. "Though when I glimpse the goddess on my bed. I have no desire to leave" I'm certain my eyes twinkled at his words. I fumbled through my words. "You should go," I tell him "He probably wants you there" He tilts his head, brow drawn, but he remained silent. But finally returned. "Don't push me away" A cold shiver rolled down my spine at the tone of his voice "I want to stay with you. At least through the morning" I bestowed an approving smile which I could not hold back any longer. I'd also wish for him to stay. "Ah," He let out and ushered himself off the mattress. "I made you something," He tells moving to a corner. He brought forward a bow, offering it to me as he settles on the edge of the mattress. Receiving it, my fingers began to scan its body, feeling the smooth ebony surface of the limp. It was so smooth that not even a faint scratch was my fingers able to detect. But the beauty of the riser was the most outstanding piece of art I have ever witnessed. I travel my fingers slowly through every curve, planting it in my memory– it was sudden and brief, an image from my vision and then I remembered. How? The young maiden with red glowing eyes had the same bow, it wasn't much clear but I'm certain I had a glimpse of the bow before my consciousness returned me to the pond. This is the same bow. this can't be the truth– her eyes were of the same set as Alisdair's. Those almond-shaped eyes that gaped right at me were unduly conspicuous not to note. How could I have omitted this all along? "What's wrong, my love?" I felt Al's palm on my cheek, bringing my face to him. "Tell me" "I ought to find my mother," I said just as the thought reached my mind. His face stilled, perhaps he was making an effort to approach my demand. "Why the sudden?" I could tell he wanted to inquire more but was silent after he had let the first question slip through his lips. I bit my lips trying to come up with an answer, he was worried. How would I know a day would come when a person would gaze at me in such a manner, then all the worries they're nothing to me because I know he is here for me? "I ought to learn why you started seeing her only after we departed from the coven" And then I glanced down at the bow "I have seen this exact bow in a vision, perhaps it is time we find out what the prophecy wants from us" Cradling my face in his hands, he said in a voice full of emotion. "Aadya, look at me... Deeper. Look through the surface and go deeper inside my mind, it will tell you everything" My heart beats for those words "... And If you want to hear a fraction of it, just know that I'll always be by your side in any decision you make. I'm going to give you much strength as I can to my power" He leaned down and placed his lips tenderly on my forehead and I relaxed. He has cured all my pains, and I know he will cure the pain of seeing my mother again, so I'm no longer afraid to suffer. Surprisingly, Al got a wooden bathtub in a corner of his room which he did say he carved out of an Ipe tree. He had helped added enough water to it before he departed to go see his brother since Callen and his mate passed the night at their own home. The night rides in on a horse of pure midnight velvet, beckoned by the stars under the glow of a semi-full moon. It is said to be our last night before we depart to find my mother, a journey I had brought upon myself and the man I love. "So where's the f*****g wake, you sad bunch of wolf blood?" Bellamy shouted as he came into the house. It was a night for a wake as said by Al, a night his family wants to properly bid us farewell for our departure by morning. In so, Bellamy and his family were called to celebrate with us. "You don't have to say that," his mate tells him with a nudge and I smiled. She was so pretty and has this tenderness in her. She held a basket and then past it to Rudina. Alisdair chuckles and his father began to play an instrument that lightened up the room. "Where did you get all this from?" Rudina asked Bellamy's mate as she took the basket from her. "Ah, just because we live in the woods doesn't mean we got to forsake the trappings of culture," Bellamy says, diving in to seize a bottle of wine. "I'm sorry I haven't personally welcomed you," Bellamy's mate says to me as I was about to place a bow of cooked meat. I smiled "I should thank you," I say. "She has been cooked up with her mate since he returned. Not letting anyone see the light of him" Rudina whispered as she walked past us. I chuckled and so did she. "Drink with me then," I say offering her a mug. I wasn't sure when a game was brought forward, though the men soon engaged in one. Their laughing and arguments filled the room, though was intriguing. We were watching them before Al summoned me. "Come, my love," He says and I felt my body hit up to the calling. Why does he have to say that out here? My blush remained as I shifted to his side. He soon began to explain how the game was being played before Bellamy offered to play with me. My whole attempts kept crumbling, not even a single time did he let me win and Al wasn't helping at all, he just watched, amusement lingering in his expression as he attended to me failing a couple of times before Rudina offered to guild me. Just as the table turns, I began leading, winning every time we begin a new one, except the main player was Rudina as she was the coach behind the star. "You make it up as you go" She mocked Bellamy as I achieved another win. "I would've used the treno against if I had known you'll use the daneen" Bellamy defended. "But you've been winning" His mate mocked and Al choked out a lingering laugh. "We should let him cheat. I feel bad for him" I say, already feeling bad for him as none of the other fellas attempted to aid him. "He will still lose," His mate says and the whole room turned into a laughing zone. “If he fell into a bucket of t**s, he'd still come up holding a c**k" And Callen who has been trying so hard not to laugh let loses "there's no way he would win when Rudina is the one he's playing against" She clarified. I probably now understand why Al didn't try to help. "Every time I think I've suffered the last beat, another lands in front of me" Bellamy let out. In a home filled with laughter and joy, love and happiness, and chatter, I see family. I watch as Al laughed at what Bellamy was saying, he was so happy, Rudina is wrapped with Callen in a corner of the room whispering. "You're not drinking?" I ask as I walked up to Al's father by the corner. "One of us has to tell the story" It was marvellous, his response, I mean. Someone has to tell the story– "The season comes..." The melody suddenly interrupted everyone "...where I can be someone" And the heavenly voice was that of Bellamy's mate. In a corner she sat, eyes closed as she poured out her soul in harmony. Quietly we watched as she continues "Also an ominous thing. Who came from the woodland. Out to the world for love. An era of eros, a tick for loving talk. Two lovers intertwined, a coming together of the lovers that render living whole. Their bond is eternal... An era of eros, a tick for loving talk... Through the valley, I will search for you in the crowd, in an empty field and soaring cloud, two lovers intertwined... An era of eros...
