AADYA
Alisdair's eyes remained on me the whole time he sweeps his way through the water and somehow they got me nervous. I had only wished for him to take satisfaction in the chillness of the water as I'm doing, maybe I shouldn't have brought it up though it seems already late. The curves of his naked skin are irresistible. My gaze only drags back to them after I pry them away. His chiselled chest stood broad, well-defined as though it was sculptured, he wasn't hairy, and somehow I desire to know the feeling of it beneath my palm.
He rips his eyes from me to glance at the waterfall and when he returns them, there was nothing there, nothing hard, nothing cold. It seems as though that heat in them had only just vanished.
"You're certain you could take the cold?" He slightly arches a brow.
I nod "hmm. I told you I won't get annihilated just by it"
He chuckles still slowly striding his way to me, his gaze darting from one place to another before returning to me. "I was certain of it. Just wanted to stand more foolproof" His smile lingered and he looks over my shoulder to the waterfall. "Behind that waterfall is my favoured spot"
His confession drives me to veer around in the direction of the fall. "There's a cave behind the fall, not far into the rock but enough to shelter a family and it's pretty cold. I suppose that's the more reason I treasure the space"
I was fully focused on the narrow path between the heavy waterfall to notice how close he is to me until I turn to look at him. My heart almost sank into my stomach, not certain of how possible that could take place but things kept getting more incoherent. The urge to touch him was becoming unbearable and when he said those words earlier I felt my heart jubilate to know he also feels the same way.
In his eyes I see home. In your soul, there is the kind of passion that brings solace to my fire, enough to bring out my earthen nature and calm and at the same time I yearn for something more intimate.
His eyes weren't glowing but there is something in them, an energy, a force trying to break out.
My hand come to rest on the nape of his neck before tracing down, touring to his wide chest, it was firm. I could feel his chest vibrating at some short-wave commonness that flare and shattered beneath my palm. I trace my fingers down his mighty masculine abdomen and then I slowly trace them back up to his chest, his heart, feeling the rhythm beneath my fingers.
My throat bobs "Aadya, you need to—"
His voice broke off as my body moved on its own, compelling me to lean in slightly, replaying my mouth where my fingers had been. Touching my lips against his bare chest, the softness of my lips against his chest and his uniquely appealing scent made me inhale deeply. I felt the vibration ripple through his entire body and heard a rough sound rumble in his chest and then I felt him slightly move though somehow managed to be still. Heat bloomed across my face as I pull back. I wasn't certain why I had just done that.
Heavy veins coursed the surface of his throat, my body going lax as he pulled me to him and my knees instantly fragile as I felt his length rigid against my belly. His finger stilled in my hair while he uses his free index to lift my jaw. "You're unravelling me, Aadya. Do you know that? Are you doing it on purpose?"
My body shuttered. I want him. I want him to touch me, to kiss me. I have desired his affection for a while now though not certain of how to request it. I let out a slight whimper as I look up at him, my body arching, and the desire between my legs seems to be more demanding. It's the first sign beyond any.
"Al" I whimper.
He went still for a while and then he leaned in, his lips faintly brushing mine while he cares our noses together in a gently slow bond before his lips found mine, claiming them.
It was gentle— soft.
I leaned into him without knowing what I exactly wanted. He hardened against me and I gasp into his mouth and his tongue slipped in, caressing my own, it felt weird at first, but gradually I began to pick up with him, following his swipes.
He began with tenderness, then grew rougher as his appetite for me overwhelmed his control. I whimper, feeling him so hard. The sound snapped whatever leash he'd had on himself and then he pushed his length hard against me while his large arm travelled down my back—he immediately peeled away the moment his palm reached my hipbone.
He pulls out, his brow furrows, a look of puzzlement striking out as he paused for a split moment and then he takes a step backwards and roughly runs his fingers through his hair. He peers at me
"Aadya, er...you should... I should get my cloth" He says incoherently before he hastily begins to wade out of the water. My heart shattered as I watch him drive his course to the rock and begin to slide his hand into his blouse.
The river water is just as icy as when I entered, yet my blood began to freeze in my vein and my skin became rough with goosebumps, pointless as they are. The water surges around my skin and its chilliness harshly penetrates my skin, stealing the heat from my body just as fast as the wind steals from my face. It runs to my core to shelter and hoard the warmth that remains.
He offered me his back as I begin to make my way out of the water, the cold breeze colliding angrily against my bare skin. I pulled through my clothes and my eyes rose to the stars that were gradually taking their role in the sky.
"Alisdair" I call to him. I could hear him groan lowly except he never made any attempt to turn. I followed him behind as he began to head back for the woods.
He wasn't saying any word nor does it seem like he would stop anytime soon and that pisses me off.
"Al!"
And then he suddenly stops allowing me to walk up to him. "What might have caused you to leave? Was I so bad at it, is that the reason?"
"I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry" His voice came off low and he soon begin to move.
"Talk to me Alisdair"
He rashly turns "You're here because of the prophecy, Aadya" His voice was low yet harsh. It is the first time I hear him groan at me in this manner. "All this was because of the prophecy, you knew me not until I arrived at the coven. You're here because of the prophecy, not because you're my mate. You don't even know it"
"You have a prophecy to fulfil, you're yet to find your mother and maybe there is more coming no one knows—"
"I know what I want!" I raised at him, cutting him off his words. "I know what I want" I repeat "You don't have to make me feel like I don't know that. I desire your affection, all of it, ever since the first time I laid my eyes on you, call me selfish but I know what I want!" My chest falls and he took his eyes off me.
"You're the one not certain of what you desire and you use the prophecy as an excuse" My throat dried off.
His eyes are seeming to have a light in them among the shadow of the woods, shining with barely restrained emotions. His face is the picture of so much pain, I have never, ever seen him look like a child before. But right now, he looks just like a boy, vulnerable.
My pulse beat loudly in my ears.
"You can't begin to imagine, Aadya" His first words strikes my heart. Pain, that I could feel from them"
"You are the first dream, the only dream I ever was unable to stop myself from dreaming. You are the first of my soul, and from that dream, I've always wanted you. You have always had my heart"
"I'm said to be your protector, which means you need me. But that's not the case here because I am the one that needs you the most. I am the one who needs you. I want you Aadya. You can't begin to imagine how much I want you... I can't stop wanting to be around you, to protect you, to please you"
The look on his face is one I never glimpse, a mixture of many emotions. Faithfulness, devotion, things born of fire were his—
My breath seized in my throat as I reach out to hold him but he moves away.
The emotions he was portraying were so foreign to me that I can't find a word to define them. I could feel the air between us thicken. He lifts his head. "I want everything with you, Aadya. I want to guild you, build memories with you, to be the only one in your mind. I want to feel every bit of you, your lips, your mouth, I want to know every curve, to know every scar, every shiver of your body, Aadya—"
"Al" I gasp not knowing what to say. I don't know what I'll do if he continues, my throat continues to dry no matter how many times I moisturize it.
"I want to know where to touch you, how to touch you, to feel your skin on fire, I want to dive deep into you, a place where only I could attain, I want to hear my name come forth your throat, feel your heart racing because of me. Because you want me. I want all of it—"
