BELLAMY
There was one single persistent question wavering through my mind as I began again to stroll closer to him. It seems the heavy rush of the water near him might have deterred him from figuring out a person was near. It wasn't until I was in his side view that he turned to gaze confusedly at me and then at the surroundings attempting to figure out if it was already sundown.
"Does it sound odd if I say I wasn't expecting you until probably a few moments after sundown? And here you are, far ahead of my speculation, perhaps you appear more bored than you look" He remarks as he pulls himself out of the water to the side his shirt was. He was a bit nonchalant regarding the way I was trying to act like I never saw the scar on his back, even so, I do appreciate it.
"It is as you have said though I never expected to see you here. It seems you prefer being outdoors rather than being in the castle" He looked in my direction and then reached for his shirt.
He set his head through the space "I won't say I appreciate being outdoors that much, nonetheless, I have been left with few choices" He let out while dressing. "Although it appears you are one with nature" I slightly sniffers and my eyes veered to the hill and then to a rock by my corner that held the exact reader he carried the previous day. I took a few steps and picked up the reader to pass it over to him as I detected him heading for it, though the instant terror that traverse his countenance the moment I took hold of the reader was something I couldn't enfold my mind around.
Even so, he comes upon like the slight expression I had taken notice of never arose. "It is in our nature," I let out passing the reader. Tacks of despair vanished from his face at the exact beat they had materialized like a wave of a rash emotion strictly at the split wink he had clasped the reader before letting it drop to the ground.
I immediately leaned to pick it up "My apologies"
"You were stabbed..." I hear him "... On your way here" he put in and I nodded a bit wary.
"Yes I was, although healed," I told him keeping the reader as he revealed no cue of longing for it at the moment. I was about to raise a question heeding how he might had learn about the incident, nonetheless, I withstood the urge as I recalled his words, verily he is a seer, and judging by the look of things he might have perceived it at the beat he touched the reader while I still had it. Perhaps that explains his odd attitude.
"I see, being a werewolf has its benefits" He let out and his face became etched with a pleasing smile.
"We only enjoy what we're good at"
"No, I don't" He uttered with sadness in his voice. His face turned to the river and then back to me. "The scar engraved on my flesh had only been there because I chose to do what I am good at. No one enjoys seeing the end of others" His voice faded.
"The scar..." I unexpectedly allowed the word to escape my lips, his eyes narrowed at me and slightly a corner of his mouth lifted. I wasn't sure if he was relaxed or feigning, perhaps he has multiple sides.
"You must have thought vastly heeding its origin for it to slip through your lips that easy," He remarked, must have seen through my mask. I switched nearer to the river where he now stood gazing upward at no distinct course.
"About a year ago, I was requested to see into the future. It was regarding a prophecy the sorcerer Ambrose had carried for a long, he desired to learn who the maiden was and in addition the ruthless destroyer. To him, he ought to guild the young maiden from the conquerer. Nevertheless, I uncovered a doom, and that led to an attack which turned out to affect me both spiritually and physically. I stayed lifeless for more than a full moon, the sorcerer had strained numerous spells to revive me yet all failed" He calmly narrated, his hand clutched behind while his gaze concentrated on the hill before us.
He turned slightly at me "What actually attacked you?" I asked hoping wasn't striking the nail on the head.
"It was dark, I wasn't able to glimpse, though its aura was diabolic, one of a cursed beast" He pursed his lips, more like he was reflecting, though he seem to appear relaxed, unlike the male I had come upon the previous night. "I never provide the old sorcerer with what he had asked for, not because I never found his answers but rather because he can't stop what is to come, it is not his destiny to prevent it. The conquerer he had desired to learn his identity is a ruthless, powerful warlock who is on the verge of turning himself immortal"
I was short of words by the time his voice died off, just staring aimlessly. This whole path seems to be far from the beginning. With many thoughts running through my mind, I tried as much as possible to keep myself from being consumed by them at the moment, yet this one question keep lingering. Would Ali be able to survive this? No matter how the question kept trying to escape me, I refrained from letting it out. It is much easier not to know things sometimes.
"There is a path that leads up to the brink of the fall" He mentioned gazing at the waterfall "It's a terrific view from up there, a decent view of the twilight" He turned slightly at me. "I invited you to the river for the sole purpose of watching the sunset as it is a delightful view to behold, you will be thrilled," He told me and signalled that I come along as he dragged himself into the flowing river, floundering across to the other side.
"I uncovered the spot when I was younger, probably twelve I think" He informed before finally stepping out of the water.
"How old are you now?" I asked nonchalantly dragging my way a few lengths behind him. He puffs as he got off the water leaning on a rock, his both hands curved behind as they rested on the rock.
"Only nineteen though would be twenty soon" He mentioned and lifted himself from the rock as I made my way out of the water.
"This proved deeper than I had speculated" I mumbled as I perked back at the river and then refocused on our new path. “I thought you do be younger, you look younger" I was twenty-two when Daciana became my mate, even so, I had not much deference from when I was twenty though certainly not as young as he look, he probably looked the same as me when I was only seventeen. He just laughed but didn't bother to remark.
"Here is the route" He announced candidly going through a narrow path, I took a glance behind before continuing on the path he had taken. Eventually, I stood at the top of the waterfall gazing freely at the stretch of land and the infinity of the sky, my barefoot below the turquoise-blue stream that wound its merry way down the cliff.
"What do you think, Bellamy?" He asked from a near distance rinsing his hands and my eyes darted at him at the mention of my name. I could sense the slightly confused look on my face hearing him call my name. I recall we never fully addressed each other, though eventually, I came to accept he might have learned it from another.
"Indeed it's glorious to behold" I let out as I exhaled deeply running my wet fingers through my neck-length shaggy silvery hair, brushing them backwards although some still fall to my face once I pulled my hands away. The view pretty much reminds me of the immense waterfall back home, the place was more a home to Ali than his actual home as he finds harmony by the side of the cliff where the rush of the water seems to carry his worries along as it slides off the cliff.
"You look a bit lost" His voice dragged me back to the present.
"Home was calling" I simply uttered moving to a rock.
"It would be a tremendous venture to visit your land" He spoke loudly, taking on to surpass the thrumming sound emanating from the water, like the steady rumbling of a drum roll. "I've never even left Zoyidel since my family never left Zoyidel. It might be good enough for them, but to me, it's the opposite. Someday I would love to see what it looks like in other lands. Perhaps I would begin with the wolf home”
The foremost certitude heeding this uncertain journey was all because of my selfish desire to venture into the outside world and that had initially led me to persuade Ali to commence on this journey with the expectancy that it would be a short one, that has been my little secret and it been tormenting me ever since the course altered. "The world is not as you may have thought, even so, I would be humbled to welcome you when you arrive in Irpinia"
"Conceivably it would turn out to become my new home" He let out, a soft smile tugged into his expression before he turned and began moving to a corner and then settled on a rock at the centre of the flowing water. He sat with both legs dragged up and curved inward. "You are a good man" He suddenly spoke out. At first, the words stood simple, though became a bit tricky as I thought into them. Not certain of how to react, I nodded resting my hands on my waist.
"You only knew me as far as the previous night and you already have a word for me?"
He chuckles slightly "You might believe so..." His face reached a bit solemn when he held up his head to peek at me. "Your other wolf-blood brother would again return to Zoyidel. At that time, do not return with him"
