Elena *****Early Evening — The Ruins of Silverfang***** The world did not celebrate Seraphina’s death. It mourned. Smoke still drifted over the shattered ruins of Silverfang, thick and heavy, blocking out what little light remained of the dying sun. The sky was a dull, sick orange, like it had been burned too many times and never healed. The ground beneath our feet was cracked and warm, as if the fire had sunk into the stone itself. Bodies were everywhere. Some of them were Seraphina’s monsters, black and twisted, slowly dissolving into ash. Others were ours. Wolves. Soldiers. People I knew. People who had trusted me to protect them. I stood in the middle of it all, my sword hanging uselessly at my side. Seraphina was gone. But the silence felt wrong. Finn and Fia stood close
