My eyes shift uncomfortably at the stairs looming just below me. One of my feet are hanging in thin air, as if ready to step down onto it, but as I look closer, it's obvious that anyone who would step onto that would end up falling the next second. With that gooey white substance, who wouldn't? “Ms. LeBlanche?” I look at the person beside me. It's Cain, his eyes staring onwards onto the landscape in front of us. Anywhere but the stairs below him. And apparently that voice didn't come from him since he too is hanging in thin air as if time stopped him. “Ms. LeBlanche?” And then suddenly I hear a loud “thwack”, jumping me awake.
