Chapter 2: Why Are My Guards So Punctual?

389 Words
The next morning I awoke to three figures, 2 men and a woman, standing over me and talking amongst themselves. I closed my eyes again, and then bolted upright and screamed. “Who are you and WHY ARE YOU IN MY ROOM!?” The leader of this group of rebels, answered me. “Ah, your Majesty, glad your awake. We are all waiting for you downstairs, but you took too long. So we decided to break into your room and watch you sleep”. Or at least, that’s what I think he should have said as a strange man in a Queen’s bedroom. But alas, he said this; “Ah, your Majesty, glad your awake. We are all waiting for you downstairs, but you hadn’t arrived yet, so we came to check on you. Now we will leave you to get ready.” And they all bowed or curtsied and left. Except not all of them left. Once the door closed, I was attacked by some spider-monkey-person. My ape attacker introduced herself while playing with my crown. My crown, people. MINE. “How ‘ya doin’ Your Highness?” She got my title wrong...anyway, I responded with a very civil comment along the lines of, “I am fine, but having trouble fully filling my diaphragm. Can you help with that? Or is helping Your Majesty too difficult for a spider-monkey-person? Hmm?” She became a tomato-spider-monkey-person and finally got off of me. (I need to shorten her nickname or learn this heathen’s actual name. Oh, heathen, I like that…) “Uh, sorry Your Majesty, I was just so excited to meet you! My brother and I couldn’t wait!” Now, ladies and gentlemen, it was in that moment I realized I was not alone with heathen over here. There, in the corner, was a Greek God of a boy, shaking with either a seizure or laughter. Based on the situation, I'm going with laughter, but a seizure would have worked as well. “Now, I thought I was handling this situation very well, but I would like to know the names of my attacker and creepy-watcher dude, please!” And with that, I promptly fell out of bed. Great. Just what I needed today. A heathen attacker, a possible medical emergency, and the loss of all respect.
