As I closed my eyes, and just "became my wolf", I felt a tingling sensation span across my body, heating and cooling me simultaneously. It was like a sudden sense of awareness that shot through my whole body, originating in my chest, spreading to my limbs, and ending in my head.
As I opened my eyes, everything looked different.
Taking the first few steps in my new form, I was un shaky knees. But as I walked, I got steadier, stronger, eventually turning to Cristal with a wink, then taking off down the hallway, out the front door that was being opened by a very surprised scullery maid, and into the woods.
For the first time in my life I felt truly free. Free to run, free to breath, free to laugh and not behave like the perfect little doll that everyone always wanted me to be.
After what felt like runnig for miles, I realised I wasn't alone. Just as I turned to confront my persuer, I was tackled to the ground and we tumbled down hill, hitting a tree at the bottom. Then everything went black.
COL'S POV
Walking away from my mate's room sullenly, I realised I was already quite attached to my little mate. SHe was fiesty, beautiful, and could hold her own. She was no damsel in distress.
Suddenly, I was almost bowled over by a giant hunting dog running loose in the castle. Bewildered, I turned to see where it came from. My blood ran cold to see my sister's panicked face as she ran after the dog-wait no, my mate. She had obviously transformed into her wolf, and had wanetd to run. Without a second thought I ran toowards the door she had run out of, surprising a scullery maid who already looked spooked.
Shifting once the coast was clear, I put my nose to the sky and searcehd for the scent that hadb't truly left my system since I met her. Once I found her, I dashed in her direction, relaxing once she was in sight. She couldn't see me, but she was enjoying herself so I let her be. Keeping pace, I smiled at how cute she looked exploring the woods I had practically grown up in.
After about 3 miles, she suddenly stopped and stood at attention. Worried, I scanned the area to see no true threat. She must have finally sensed us, my wolf gleaned with pride. But I don't think she had sensed us. Yes she had sensed me, but she hadn't yet realised that it was only me she was sensing.
In a split second decision, I tackled her before she attacked. Unfortaneatly, I hadn't remembered the hill on the other side of her. We tumbled down, eveantually hitting a pine tree. Shaking myself off, I turned to her, but found her wolf limp.
Well fudge. This is gonna be a long night.
