Jordan’s POV
Ryan walks on the basketball court late with a smug expression on his face.
“What’s with you?” I ask him.
“I just met a pretty girl in the whole world.” He responds.
I did too and I bet she is prettier than the one he met.
“Is that so?” I ask, sounding a little uninterested.
“Yep, and I could sense my charm working on her, before the week ends I shall have her all to myself.” He proudly says.
This guy has no interest in having genuine relationships with girls, since Blair broke his heart, he has no interest in being in another relationship all he wants to do is hook up with any girl that’s pretty. After he gets what he wants he then dumps the girl and moves on to another like nothing ever happened.
That’s sad.
I am neither in a relationship and haven’t been in one for a while now. But I look forward to being in one, some day when I meet the right girl. Maybe the one I met earlier. I didn’t even get her name how stupid of me, I will see if can catch her after class before she leaves.
She is so beautiful. She also seems like a nice person nothing like all the other girls at this school. Honestly, I hope she is different from all the girls at this school. They have no brains, all they care about is being pretty, having expensive things and wearing too much makeup and perfume.
My ideal girl should not have to wear makeup because her natural beauty is enough. Wear nice perfume that doesn’t have to be choking. Decent with good manners and intelligent. I need to be able to have intellectual conversations with her.
“I pity the girl.” I shake my head then pick the basketball from the court.
“I will make sure she enjoys her time with me.” He says with a smug look.
I shake my head. We all know what that means.
“Okay, that will be generous of you.” I tease him.
“She has too so that she spreads the good word.”
“Enough chit chat you two, play some ball.” The coach yells from the bench.
Mary-Kate’s POV
“I will see you tomorrow, Billy.” I say to him as I pack my things in my bag.
“Sure, thing BFF.” He says in a sassy way.
“BFF?” I ask a bit confused.
“Yes darling, we are now best friends...forever!” he exclaims excitedly.
“Oh, okay.” I say.
I have never had a best friend, the closest thing I had to a friend was my pet fish rollie. Rollie died a few years back when we couldn’t afford his pet food anymore, I was sad to let him go.
At my old school I never had friends, none of them were decent and could hold a proper conversation with me. The girls always and only talked about hooking up with boys and all the boys that spoke to me only ever wanted to get into my pants, so I just avoided them all. I can’t imagine how many STDs each one of them has.
“So from tomorrow we can do everything together during our free time, have lunch together, go for PE together, study if that’s what you want to do as well as go shopping on the weekends.” He lists all the things we shall be doing.
Studying is a must, I need to maintain my GPA for me to get that scholarship. Shopping maybe too much for me, I don’t have money to spend on things I may not need. I don’t even have money for all the things I need.
“Alright B-F-F” I say.
“Yes B-F-F, I will see you tomorrow.” Says Billy then he blows me a kiss.
“See you tomorrow.” I smile at my new BFF, a gay male BFF. I am looking forward to it.
Billy walks out of the classroom as I finish packing my things in my backpack. I didn’t carry the backpack that was provided by the school, I did well not to carry it because it would have given me away. Everyone is carrying a fancy bag including the guys. I can’t afford a fancy bag like them. I only have the backpack dad bought for me on my fifteenth birthday last year. It’s a plain purple sling bag, it has enough space for me to carry my notebooks and squeeze in a sandwich and a fruit.
I finish packing my things then walk out of the class.
“Hey wait!” I hear a familiar voice shout towards me. There is no one else in the hallway apart from me so they must be calling out to me.
I turn around and find Jordan panting. He must have been running or something. His not in his uniform, he is wearing a PE attire like the other cute boy. His body is all sweaty, some dripping from his head.
“Hi,” I say.
He gets closer to me.
“Hi, how’s your finger?” he asks once he is standing in front of me.
I look at my bandaged finger and shrug, “It’s alright.”
“You sure?” he asks with a raised eyebrow. He must think I am lying like he did before, I was in so much pain and he saw through me, only dad ever does that.
“Yes, the nurse gave me something for the pain.” I tell him.
“Good to hear, how was Business class?” he asks.
“Not bad. How did you know I had business class?”
“We are in the same class.” he says.
Now its my turn to doubt his words.
“But you weren’t in class.” I say.
“Correct, I wasn’t because I had basketball practice.” He says.
“Okaaaayyyyy…”
“I sit right behind you.” He adds
“Oh,”
The hot boy sits right behind me, how fun. I feel my chicks heat up.
I look down at my watch, it’s 3:50pm, I will miss the bus if I don’t leave now.
“I need to get going now, I will see you tomorrow.” I say to him before I turn and continue walking towards the main exit.
“Wait, what’s your name?” he asks.
He wants to know my name?
I stop and turn to face him, “Mary-Kate.”
He smiles, oh my lord his smile is heavenly.
“I like it. See you tomorrow Mary-Kate.” He waves then turns around to leave in the direction he came.
Oh my, did that just happen?
Jordan’s POV
“Wait, what’s your name?” I ask her just after she starts walking away.
She turns and looks at me again, “Mary-Kate.” She says.
Wow she has a beautiful name. I smile at her, “I like it. See you tomorrow Mary-Kate.”
I turn around and head back to the gym. She is beautiful and has an amazing name too. I can’t wait to see her tomorrow.
“Hey man, can you give me a ride home?” Ryan asks as I enter the locker room.
“Where’s your car?”
“The driver took it for servicing.” He says.
“Alright sure, let me just get my stuff then we can leave.”
I grab my stuff from my lock packing them in my gym bag before we both leave for home.
“Are we playing a few games before you head home?” Ryan asks.
We usually play video games at his place or mine in the afternoons. Since I am dropping him at his place, might as well play a few games from his place.
“One or two games is not a bad idea, but I need to get home before 6pm though.” I tell him.
“Why what’s happening?” he asks as we head down the hall towards the exit which leads us straight to the car park.
“Mom said we are having dinner as a family, dad is around.” I respond.
“Yikes!!”
“Yeah you could say that again.” I hate it when mom forces me to have dinner with my father, we don’t exactly get along these days.
“Sorry man.” Ryan tries to sound concerned. “I could call in for a favor and get you out of the dinner.” He suggests.
“Nah, it’s cool.”
I can’t keep avoiding him.
