The smell of fresh coffee and sizzling bacon filled the cabin, which blended with the earthy scent of the rainforest. The morning light streamed through the large glass windows and illuminated the rustic wooden interior. I stood by the stove as I prepared our breakfast. Waffles, crispy bacon, and scrambled eggs. The kitchen was warm and cozy, and it was exactly the kind of morning I had hoped for when I planned this trip.
“This is a surprise,” Anastasia remarked as she joined me in the kitchen. I glanced over my shoulder at her and smirked.
“Of course, I had to impress you somehow,” I said as I pointed at the coffee machine. Anastasia came to stand beside me as she peered into the pans on the stove.
“I had no idea you could cook,” she said, and I nodded.
