There was this girl from a local town, named Javier. She is a beauty like most of her friends and colleagues said about her. Simple and yet smart girl, named Zeya.
On her 29th birthday, her parents asked her to continue her studies despite having 2 children. So, Zeya had to think this over. as for her younger sister, Zeya had that brain and would be able to compete with anything. She agreed and had chosen to pursue a Bachelor of Education majoring in English in the next municipality, called Abuyog.
Early morning in July, she went to Abuyog Community College to ask for the needed documents so she could enroll herself. She undergo an entrance exam and had interviewed by the dean of the Education department. Upon receiving the result of her exam, she eventually noticed that she fails on the major she wanted to pursue, but good thing she passed the interview so the department had let her have it.
After she was enrolled in the college school of Education, a piece of news had changed and affected her decision. They had learned that their father got to stage 4 prostate cancer, which is about to die. She was bothered by this news and the fact that she is left in charge of her nephews because her older sister will be served as a companion of her father in going in and out of the hospital.
It was August, and classes had just started, but Zeya can't go to school for she can't afford to leave her nephews and her sons at home. Although her 2 nephews are already grown-ups, still they do brotherly fight. She's also worried because nobody aside from her could cook for them. Until one morning, one of her classmates ask her to come to school or else she will be dropped. Poor Zeya had o choice but to come to school as early as possible, so she look for someone who could replace her at home while in school, so she found her cousin who just stop from going to school for she would go to Manila and look for a job instead.
Zeya uses her allowance for the food, her fare, and even for the nanny (cousin). Even while she is in school, she can't help thinking of what is going on at home, if they were able to eat at the exact time? is the food she left for them is enough? she can't help thinking that affects her studies that much.
