Miranda was quick to explain herself “Madam, she wants color red but we’re sold out”
“Did you explain that to the customer?” Keira asked her calmly.
“Yes Madam, but she’s not having it”
From the corner of her eye, Keira saw the girl roll her eyes. Then guessed she must be one of those difficult customers.
“I want them today, i got prom next week” Riley told Keira, in a gentler, more conducted tone.
“Honey, we’re all sold out. Production only takes place on weekends. When’s your prom event?”
“Friday” Riley answered
“Then that isn’t an issue, we gonna make sure you get your pair first thing in the morning on Monday, that’s days before your event right? You live in New York?”
Riley shoke her head “No, L.A”
“Okay, you know what, it’s ya lucky day. Delivery’s on the house. How ‘bout that?”
The girl’s face suddenly lit up “Okay!”
Miranda was in disbelief. The girl seemed easy to deal with when it was Keira talking. What a Brat!. She thought.
“Can i get a picture with you?” The girl asked Keira and lucky enough, Keira was in a good mood to take pictures so she agreed.
When that part was done, they walked to the cashier so the girl could place her order and write down an address after payment.
“Bye Keira” Riley said
“Bye”
Drex looked at the CEO with a casual smile “Thank you, you might have just saved me from long hours of nagging on air”
Keira’s lips curled automatically“I guess that’s just part of our customer’s service. Thank you too”
Drex’s smile turned into a little smirk as he maintained eye contact with her till she was able to extract herself from his sweeping gaze.
He turned, and while walking towards the exit, he casually stopped by Miranda and handed her a hundred dollars note. She received the cash with both hands. Then he leaned down towards her and said “Thanks for your patience”
Miranda was star struck for a minute but came out of it soon after. “It—it was nothing sir” she stuttered. With a small smile, he walked away, towards the exit with his sister.
Only when they were really gone did Miranda speak “Oh my God he smelled so good.” She spoke like she was lost in a dream. Floating on air with the rich scent she had gotten from him “And i just made ten customers tips today” she put the hundred bucks in her skirt pocket then patted the swollen feel of the money through the fabric.
“He’s a real Gentleman” Belle said, feeling lost in her own fantasy.
“Can’t say same about his brat of a sister” Miranda added
“These rich teenagers, be the worst for real” Dora concluded “They more arrogant than them parents who own them unlimited credit cards”
Keira simply looked at her with a small smile on her face, understanding her employees’ frustration. Customers like the spoilt girl weren’t hard to find on a daily base at all.
“But her brother—-“ Belle Dazed in an even more lost tone “Is so charming, so Gentle-manly” she drawled as she flash-backed on his appearance a few minutes ago. “And them eyessss”
“You know him personally before?” Keira asked her with a raised brow “Or you got all these character-traits from a five minute encounter. Girl put yourself together, no employee of mine gonna be caught dead lusting over a man like that.”
“Not exactly Madam, but didn’t you look at him?, his girlfriend really is lucky” Belle answered
“Yes,” Miranda piped in “She’s that RnB singer, all botched up. she pretty and talented but she won’t last long in her career. It just don’t add up”
Keira rolled her eyes “i sure hope there ain’t someone out there being as pessimistic ‘bout me as y’all are ‘bout these folks.—ya’all go back to work, i’mma be in ma office” she told them, turning away.
“Yes Madam” they answered in unison
Keira strode towards the back, into her office, where she found an ordered supper already on her desk. She sank in her chair and dug into her fresh still hot sushi. She loved it. She picked up her chopsticks and while she ate, she heard a familiar chime, she dug into her bag for her phone then smiled when she saw the caller Id, it was her sister. “Hullo” she answered in a dramatic tone“Missed me already?”
‘I always miss you’ Sierra’s voice sounded from the other line
“Gurlll, it been barely 78hours since you is gone” Keira joked with a small laugh, knowing fully well Sierra had been gone four months now.
Sierra cackled at the other side ‘Where are you?’
“The office, eating Sushi. What about you?”
Sierra sighed ‘Leaving the office, i’m so exhausted’
“Sorry”
‘Thank you bae, just wanna go home and rest my back. Anyho, guess who i ran into today’
“Who??” Keira stopped eating, very much interested in the sister gossip
‘Michael Lloyd’
“Michael?” She was trying to remember the face that bore the name then suddenly it hit her “Wait, Your Mike?”
“Yezzz”
“Whatt???, he stalkin’ you or somethin’?”
‘I don’t know, but I don’t think so, i mean that story was a long time ago’
“You two spoke?”
‘Yes, just casual greetings. He said he was there for business. Mentioned somethin’ ‘bout a major construction project he and his team were working on”
“And????” Keira was so eager on getting the full story details. Michael Lloyd had been Sierra’s sweetheart while she was in a college, The man had been married while dating Sierra who had no idea about it. Her finding out, later led to their breakup some months after they started seeing eachother.
‘And, i told him i was happy for him, which i am and we went our separate ways’ Sierra answered Keira’s question
“Ya’all two, got one hell of a love story” Keira said, laughing
‘Tell me about it, but like i said, it’s been years and we’ve moved past that’
“Okay. He still with his wife?”
‘Keira, how would i know that?’
“Wait a minute, you didn’t ask?”
‘And why would i do that? That’s none of my business asking him about his wife.’
“Well…considering you was almost co-wives”
‘Keira!’ Sierra hushed
Keira loved teasing her sister about her brief affair with Michael Lloyd and she burst out laughing right after. Only when she was almost choking did she stop “I’m sorry”
‘No, you not’ Sierra told her. She had learnt not to take her sister’s teasing seriously most of the time.
“You home already?” Keira asked
‘No, still on the highway.—-Talk to you later?’
“Yeah, love ya. Stay safe”
‘You too. Love you too’
After hanging up, Keira continued with eating her delicious sushi.

Miles Away, Sierra pulled into the driveway of G$C Apartments. She unbuckled her seat belt, picked up her bag from the passenger seat and turned off the car’s system before taking out the keys from the start engine and stepping out. After making sure the car was properly locked, she walked out of the Garage space into the main building’s entrance.
“A Good evening to you Miss Sierra” the door man, Jerry who was so fond of her greeted as he slid open the doors.
“Good evening Jerry and Thank you” she answered with a small smile then she walked towards the elevator. Lucky enough, the elevator was free. She was taken up to the fourth floor and the doors slid open. She stepped into the pavement where two doors stood adjacent to each other. Every floor had a maximum of two apartments each. She took out her Pass key from her bag and opened the door and closed it right after she got in.
