On the Eve of her twenty-first birthday, Kiera and Jesse’s relationship had come to a brief end. They had decided to go their separate ways in a peaceful manner without letting the media know why or how they ended up. And it took more than five months later before the press actually figured it out that Actor Jesse Thorne and his girlfriend had broken up.
Keira hated when the bloggers referred to her as his girlfriend now “present EX”. She felt like she had worked enough to get her name mentioned if at all if it had to be Mentioned. She knew she had earned being called a designer. More than a dozen celebrities wore her brand, she was way more worth than being Jesse Thorne’s ex girlfriend but her special advisors told her not to take it to heart since it was the bloggers just trying to rage bait her.
Who didn’t know Keira the designer was an attractive, Young uprising, natural, beautifully built girl who was making millions in her early twenties, with a background born from the very gutter. All the oppressed had to find a way to drag her on the net since they couldn’t do it physically.
She had also gotten her very first tattoo. On her foot, a lovely butterfly garden in black and red ink which suited her skin perfectly, she loved it and thought the pain had been worth it . While Sierra had gotten hers on her lower back. The first major thing or activity they had ever done different. They were trying to make it easier on the press by making it known that the twin with a tattooed foot was the more famous one. Mostly for Sierra’s security as she was moving to a whole different city with new completely different people.
Sierra had gotten a promotion at her Job place. The Government had promoted her to a bigger company site in Atlanta, Georgia. And even though it was the hardest decision she had ever made, considering the fact that she had to be miles away from her parents and very own twin, it was tough but wasn’t an offer she could let slide by. That was all she had ever seeked and she had her parent’s blessing with her. Keira had been very sad when she heard her twin would have to move away, but she couldn’t be selfish. She knew she had to let her go eventually.
And that was how the Ortiz Twins separated from each other. Sierra followed her dreams to Atlanta, while Keira stayed in New York, running her growing business. One busy day, in the late hours of noon, the doors to Keira Ortiz Footwear store was pushed open and a male and youthful girl walked in.
The Cashier saw him first and her mouth almost dropped open when she did. He was the wealthy, handsome,— she broke off.
“Hello” he greeted politely
“Good day sir, how may i help you?” The Cashier, Dora, was fighting to keep her calm and control her voice which kept trying to let out a squeal.
Before he could respond, the youthful teenager beside him did. “I want the Keira Ortiz derby dress shoes” the girl stated
Just then, two of the sales girls, dressed in their serving uniforms and pulled back buns walked out from the back store door. They couldn’t hide the expressions on their faces when they saw him.
“Drex Scott?!” One of them blurted out, then was quick to regain herself “Sorry” the guy just offered her an understanding smile.
“One of our Sales girls would take you to the Derby dress shoes collection, Ma’am” the cashier told the customer. The girl rolled her eyes then looked at Miranda, one of the sales girls and said, “Hurry up”
Even if the girl had an obvious stinky attitude, Miranda was thrilled to be of service to Drex. “Sure, this way” she led the way around the counter.
And came to a stop at the dress footwear shelf on the fifth row. She reached up and took down a pair of brand new shoes in a glass box. “I believe this is what you’re looking for Ma’am?”
“Yea, but i want the red in color” the girl said
“Oh, you’re two days late. The red colors are completely sold out. But we’ll be restocking next week” Miranda explained softly
“Are you dumb? I don’t want them next week, i want them now!” The girl ordered, looking suddenly pissed
“Riley, language” Drex cautioned his sister.
Miranda simply let out a steady breath, and spoke more softer. Why her past experience with handling arrogant customers taking control. “Miss, there’s really nothing i can do. Production takes place every week, not mid-week that’s why your order can only be made possible next week. You can give us your details and we’ll have it delivered to your door step first thing on Monday morning”
“No!” Then she turned to her brother with pleading eyes, she wanted him to use his influence and get those shoes “Drex, i got prom next week. I need those shoes.”
Drex looked at Miranda and asked gently “Are they any like just on show or somethi’? i’mma pay for it double the actual amount”
But Miranda simply shoke her head helplessly “No sir, everything’s sold out.”
Just then, the boss herself entered her shop. Keira was wearing a cotton pink Alexander wang Mini romper and a black coat over the outfit which was slightly oversized on her. She matched the color of her Coat with her newly launched fishnet Ballet flats. Her black carefully curled hair fell over shoulders and she took off her glasses as she looked around the store. From the bodyguards and paparazzi downstairs, she guessed an important customer had come in that evening.
“Good evening Ma’am” her other sales girl, Belle greeted her.
“Good evening” and then she heard a rumble of voices a way back behind about five other shelves bindings.
“Who’s that?” She asked Belle
“A spoilt customer and her Charming brother” Belle answered. One thing about Keira, she and her workers shared a very friendly and respectful Worker-Employee relationship. She shoke her head then handed Belle her Pink Hermes ferrora midi bag so she could put it in her office while she checked out what was going on.
She heard the youthful voice of a teenage girl as she approached even closer to the gathering of three. Then she saw Miranda facing two customers. Male and female. Just as Miranda was about to explain herself for what seemed like the hundredth time, Keira spoke. “Miranda, What’s going on here?”
She got their attention then. The two customers turned towards her. Keira scanned their faces and realized she recognized them. The Guy with braids was a very famous American rapper, Drexander Scott, publicly known as DREX. Explains Belle’s earlier description. She locked eyes with him then his younger sister for a brief second.
“Good evening ma’am—” Miranda greeted
“Keira Ortiz!” The girl cut Miranda off with a shriek then dashed towards Keira, engaging her in a tight hug. Keira was openly stunned at the sudden gesture.
“I’m your biggest Fan, Keira!” The girl said, releasing her from the tight hug which almost stole Keira’s breath away.
“Uhm—thank you?”
“I have all your design releases for this year and last year” Riley went on.
“Thank you…”
“Riley. Riley Scott”
Keira stole a glance at her chill looking brother then back at her “Thank you Riley. You came to purchase something today?”
“Yes! I want Color Red Derby dress shoes but your sales girl—“ she turned and gave Miranda a scornful look. “Is making it hard for me”
