PERSIA The birth of the baby boy began to change Gracias' behavior towards Persia. She became consumed by her new role as a mother and the weight of securing the throne for her child. Persia, who had always been by Gracia's side, noticed a change in her behavior. Gracia began to dismiss her opinions, ignore her counsel, and exclude her from important decisions. The once-strong bond between them started to fray. Gracia publicly belittles Persia's suggestions for the kingdom's growth, calling them "foolish" and "inexperienced." Persia, taken aback by the harsh words, felt a deep sting. Gracia's disrespect towards Persia grew. She would often interrupt her, talk down to her, and even mocked her in front of the pack members, and Persia's heart grew heavy with sorrow. The once-unbreakable bond between them had turned into a fragile thread, threatening to snap at any moment. Persia, hurt and confused by Gracia's sudden change in behavior, sought the counsel of Alpha Perkins, She hoped that Alpha' words would help resolve the issue. With a heavy heart, Persia explained the events to Alpha, detailing Gracia's dismissive and belittling behavior. She expected him to share her concern and offer guidance on how to address the situation. However, Alpha's response was unexpected. "Persia, my dear, I see nothing wrong with Gracia's attitude," Perkins said, stroking his beard thoughtfully. "As the mother of the future Alpha, she must prioritize the throne's security and her child's well-being. Her focus is on the future, and sometimes that means making tough decisions." Persia was taken aback. "But Alpha, she disrespects me, ignores my counsel, and mocks me in public! Is that not wrong?" Alpha chuckled. "Ah, Persia, you must learn to separate personal feelings from the demands of the throne. Gracia's behavior may seem harsh, but it is a necessary evil. The kingdom's stability is at stake." Persia left the meeting with Alpha, feeling more confused and isolated than ever. She realized that Alpha's loyalty to Gracia and the throne clouded his judgment, and he was unwilling to see the hurt Gracia's actions caused. With a heavy heart, Persia wondered if she was the only one who saw the damage Gracia's behavior inflicted on their relationship and the kingdom. She began to question whether she had a place with Perkins, or if her presence was merely a necessary evil. The castle had been overjoyed when they brought home their playful and adorable pup, Max. For six months, Max had been the center of their universe, showering him with unconditional love and affection. However, as the days went by, subtle changes began to creep in. At first, it was just a slight hesitation in Max's usual energetic demeanor. He would pause, as if listening to a distant sound, before resuming his playful antics. Persia had noticed a change in Max's playful behavior, but brushed it off as mere childish antics, but deep down, she sensed something was amiss. One fateful evening, as Gracia prepared Max's dinner, his distress became impossible to ignore. He paced back and forth, crying hesitantly, his big brown eyes clouded with anxiety. Perkins, Gracia cried out, her hearts racing with fear. "What's wrong, Max?" Gracia cooed, trying to comfort the pup, but he pulled away, his eyes turned red, his hands and legs shaking uncontrollably. We need to call the healer," Persia urged, her voice laced with worry. Perkins, ordered that the healer be called immediately. Tears welling up in Gracias' eyes, cradled Max in her arms. "We'll get through this, baby boy. We won't let anything happen to you." Panic set in at the castle as everyone prayed and hoped that Max would get well and get back on his feet. As the night wore on, Max's distress only intensified. He refused food, and his breathing became labored. Gracia, Perkins, and Persia were at a loss, their minds racing with worst-case scenarios but trusting the healer to bring relief to Max's condition. But as the night drew to a close, the trio sat vigilantly, watching over Max; they trembled with fear, as his tiny heart beat rapidly. The uncertainty of what lay ahead hung heavy in the air___ Suddenly, the healer came out with the news the y had dreaded, "We lost Max", he died from a poisonous substance
