Now, an hour into her research, she’d just come upon an interesting anecdote about the writer Rudyard Kipling. Events that centuries ago would have propelled people straight to the stake to be burnt were now current happenings that apparently no one made a fuss about. Nevertheless, the author of The Jungle Book, known as a rational person, had waited until the end of his life, before daring to relate one of his strange experiences. Apparently, years before, he had had an extraordinary dream, crystal clear and filled with a myriad of details that he had remembered on awakening.
