An unlucky morning!

Nick's Pov

My head is hurting so much. Damn it who is calling me continuously, it is making my head hurt more. I picked up the call after seeing that it is my assistant's call. There must be some important work in the office. " Good morning Ruby, Is there any emergency". I asked her while searching for a tablet for my headache. " No Sir, but you kept the interview at 7am so I just wanted to remind you" She replied. Oh I really forgot that I kept the interview early so that it will not affect my work schedule. It's also a good idea to test how punctual my new assistant can be.

Ruby is a perfect assistant for me but my bad luck she is taking maternity leave. She is more like an elder sister who knows me very well. She is a professional with other employees but I am her boss c*m brother. She takes care of my office work and also my personal work like remembering all family occasions and buying perfect gifts for them. I don't know if I can find a replacement for her even on temporary basis. " I think you should conduct the interview on my behalf. I can be late for interview and I don't want any interference in my schedule so I will reach the office at regular time.You can provide me with the details later." I asked her to do the interviews as she is the best person for it and I believe that she can choose better than me. " Ok boss I will handle everything take your time." She replied and ended the call.

I went for a shower and looked at myself in the body length mirror. I am looking so messy and this headache is making it worse. I should have not drank too much last night knowing that I have work early morning but my mom made me so mad. She always tries to interfere in my life and always gets what she wants. I think dad has spoiled her so much. I even got engaged with a girl of her choice which is her friend's daughter. She thinks she has chosen a beautiful and sophisticated girl with good family background but she does not know that the girl is a slut.

I am here finding a way to break this engagement and my mom wants me to select a date for my wedding. Seriously how can she not think about my wish and emotionally blackmail me. I am her only son but she favours that slut Maria more than me. She doesn't know the real Maria who is a b***h but I know and I am not going to be with her in a relation. I don't even want her as a fling let alone as my wife. I am engaged with her only to buy some time from my persistence mother. Atleast with this engagement I don't have to go on blind dates regularly that my mother used to set up for me on every weekend. It was her condition to marry a girl of her choice or she will torture me with this blind dates which were horrible as they only talk about my money and their makeup and fashion, there were no real talk about ourselves or about an important topic which should be discussed.

I showered and got ready for my day at office. I checked my schedule emailed to me and saw that I have several meetings lined up for today. I went to have breakfast but then remembered the cook is on leave. I looked for some food in the fridge but nothing was fit for my breakfast. I decided to have breakfast at a restaurant near the office. I had eaten there before and I love their black coffee. I just hope it will freshen up my damp mood and help with this headache.

I went towards my garage and chose the blue lamborghini to ride. There was so much traffic as it is a Monday morning and first day of week after weekend. I should have reached the restaurant now but I can't think it is possible at this speed. If I will eat breakfast in the restaurant then I will be late for my meeting. I reached office first as I don't want to be late for even some minutes. I want my employees to be punctual so I should also follow that rule and be punctual as their boss. They admire me and I am their inspiration so I should maintain that. I am hungry but I can eat in my office. I should order my breakfast and coffee from the restaurant.

I entered the office premises after parking my Car at my private parking lot. All the employees greeted me when I passed by them and it looks like everybody has started their work. I called Ruby first thing upon entering my cabin but she is not picking up the call, she must be busy in the interview. I then called Sam uncle through the intercom. He is an employee but he treats me as his son an is working for me from the time I started my business. I asked him to send someone to bring my coffee and breakfast. Apart from Ruby he knows my taste very well so he can order accordingly.

Ruby has already set everything for me so I started reading the file for the meeting which is after 30 minutes. It is enough time to complete breakfast and prepare myself for the meeting as Ruby has arranged all things for the meeting already. That's why I am sure that I can't find an assistant someone like her. I was immersed in reading the important points when my breakfast arrived.

I washed my hands in my private bathroom inside my office cabin and started eating breakfast on the couch. My breakfast contains simple veg cheese sandwich and garlic bread with black coffee. I just took my first bite and I was informed that the clients have arrived and waiting for me in the meeting room. They are early but very important clients for my upcoming project so I would have to leave breakfast. I took my black coffee with me on the way to meeting but it was such an unlucky morning that my coffee fell down due to my carelessness. I should not have walked this fast with coffee in hands. A cleaning staff saw and immediately came to clean it.

I just groaned inside my head and went towards the meeting room. I don't know how I will survive the day in this mood. This meeting should go well otherwise I don't know how I will react.
