Chapter 5

1258 Words
Alex stood in the room, looking at his two best friends in shock. "No, John. You are not going to draft that bet and sign it. I don't agree to it," Alex said, wanting to stop his two best friends from going on with the crazy bet. "Have you guys thought about it? If Helen found out that you two placed a bet on her, what will happen to her? Will she be able to withstand the embarrassment? I am going to tell her so that she doesn't agree with any of your bet," Alex said, but before he could leave the room, John and Samuel caught him by his shirt and growled at him. "You will not dare to do that, except you want to see your father's company go bankrupt." "What?" Alex's jaw dropped. "Are you guys threatening me? What is so special about Helen that you all want to humiliate her? Just let her be. Please…" Alex said, as he looked at his friends. They let go of his shirt, and John brought out a cigarette to smoke, as he was a politician's son. "I will not let Helen off the hook. She crossed the line, and it's only best that she paid for it," he said, and Alex sighed. "Fine. Deal with it. But know that I am not a part of it." Alex wanted to leave the room, but John blocked his path. "You will be a witness to the bet. Samuel, draft the bet and send the documents to me to sign. You can use DocuSign to draft it." Alex's brows furrowed as he could not believe that John was forcing him to be a witness to the bet. Samuel brought out his phone and drafted the bet. "Done. I have sent the copy to you," he said. John grinned as he let go of Alex's shirt. He brought out the document, read it, and signed. "15 million dollars await the winner if you win this bet, Samuel, and if you lose, I get 15 million dollars, and if Alex breaks the deal and leaks it out, he's going to pay us 15 million dollars each, as a witness to the deal," John said, as he played a voice recording of the things he said, and Alex's jaw dropped. "Have you fụcking lost your mind, John? How dare you record this and threaten me with money? Where do I get 15 million dollars from? Do you think my father is as rich as yours?" Alex yelled at John, hating that he saw John as his friend. John hardly forgave anyone who wronged him. "Then you keep your lips shut. If you leak this bet, then you will spend the rest of your life paying us 15 million dollars each," John said, his voice cold, and Alex gulped hard. "Fine. Do as you wish. I am out of here," Alex left the room, breathing heavily. He knew that he could not break the deal or leak the bet. It was left for John and Samuel to see who would win and lose until after their final year. After Alex left the room, John sat smoking, and Samuel reminded him, "You know that smokers are liable to die young. Yet, you smoke at this young age. Don't you value your life?" John scowled as he continued smoking. "I do so only when I am angry." "This is a medical department of this university. It's not advisable to smoke here. Why not quit and join the political department? Why waste your time chasing medicines?" Samuel asked, as he sat on his bed and looked at John. "My Dad wants me to take over my mother's pharmaceutical company, while my older brother will take over his political office. So you see, I don't stand a chance against Shadrack," John grumbled, knowing his older brother was his father's favorite. "It's fine. You should focus more on your studies. I can help you with the practical if you are willing to stay focused," Samuel said, and John looked at him and laughed. "That reminds me. How did you manage to pass your own papers because I hardly see you read or study? You just pick the pen and write, and yet you pass. It's always you or that chubby nerd, but you don't study hard like she does," John finished smoking, his gaze fixed on Samuel. "You seem to forget that my father owned one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in this state. So I am already aware of how to mix drugs and how his company works. Only that I need to pass the exam and graduate. So what do you expect? If I don't get my MPharm, Master of Pharmacy degree, it will seem like I didn't go to the university of pharmacy, and I am a fake pharmacologist, so I had to come here," Samuel concluded as he laid on his bed resting and knowing that only the theory exam was left. John's eyes widened in shock. "Then that means you can help me. Why did I not think of you and went to ask that Chubby Nerd? I still have to deal with her," John grumbled, and Samuel laughed. "I know. The same as I want to sleep with her too. So don't worry about me losing the deal. I have my ways," Samuel smirked, and John's brows furrowed. "I will be watching. Just know that rápe is not part of the deal. If you rápe Helen, you lose. You have to win her over before sexíng her and dumping her. That's the deal," John said with a smirk, and Samuel picked his pillow and tossed it at John, who was done smoking. "Fúck you, John. I never ráped a woman, and I will not start with Helen. 15 million dollars is nothing to my bank account. You barely know what I am capable of," Samuel said with a smirk, and John frowned, thinking about it. Just then, Samuel's phone rang, and his father was the one calling him. "Excuse me, John," Samuel said, as he sat up on the bed and picked up his father's call. "Hello, Dad," Samuel said, and his father's hard voice barked at him. "You fúcking idíot. How dare you supply the Robert's CEO with the potent stroke-curing medicine that you created?" Mr. Noah Kingston yelled at the phone. "What? Dad, what are you talking about?" Samuel asked, his voice filled with confusion. "Don't play dumb, Samuel. Or do you think that I do not know that you secretly created potent medicine in school? Well, that's aside, the Robert Pharmaceutical has been affecting our market value, and I had them go bankrupt. Luckily, Mr. Henry Robert, the CEO of Robert Pharmaceutical, suffered from a stroke after losing all his money to my subordinate that I sent to scam him. And now, you helped him to survive. How could you do that, Samuel? I am withdrawing all your funding and closing your bank account, you ungrateful son!" Mr. Noah yelled, and the call ended. Samuel stared at his phone, too shocked to react, and John looked at him in surprise as he heard what Samuel's father had said. John had no idea that Samuel was creating the potent drugs that were sold for 1 million dollars per bottle. No wonder Samuel was ready to pay 15 million dollars for the bet. The atmosphere in the room thickened until Samuel's phone rang again, and it was his mother, Stacey, calling him.
