Chapter 13 – Games

"Found you." The words that this man uttered. What does he mean he found me? I found him. A handsome man was staring me straight in the eyes when I recovered my visions. I could melt with that gaze of his. He has pitch black hair, grey eyes as thick, prowling clouds in a storm, and red thin lips. Those lips that touched mine… Yet, I flinched when he frowned, then suddenly wiped something from my face. Little did I know, tears were flowing from my eyes. “What is happening?” I asked absent-mindedly. He didn’t reply and just continued to wipe my flowing tears. My heart is aching every time his eyes meet mine. A minute had passed and I was finally able to calm down. I do not know what the hell just happened to me! I tried to move but I cannot feel anything. I glanced at the man who was still staring at me so intensely. So, this is Damian Lasiere. I tried to talk but there was no voice coming out of my mouth. I already gained my visions and started to feel better but why can't my body function? "I think you need all of this." He stated and raised a small bottle in his hand. To my surprise, he began to drink it. What the hell? Why is he drinking it when he knows that I need that? Does he want me to stay like this or better yet, does he want me to die? Unexpectedly, he suddenly came near to my face and for the second time, our lips had touched. Well, it wasn't a real kiss. He is only giving me the antidote to the poison. I felt my fingers flinch. I can move. I need to push him away! There's nothing in his mouth anymore. I was surprised when his tongue intertwined with mine. I pushed him with all my might but damn he's strong. "HEY!" I shouted and he finally stopped. What the hell did he do? "Well, that worked." He said and looked at me blankly. Now, he stood up. I too tried to stand up but I immediately fell to my knees. Well, this is terrible! I sighed. I'll just wait for them here and at the same time wait for my strength to get back. I stayed sitting on the floor. I realized that he wasn't leaving yet. Damian was just staring at me. I closed my eyes eagerly then opened them. I was about to talk when I felt his arms under my leg and shoulder. He started to carry me but he stopped because he fixed his coat which is covering my body. My clothes were ripped off, I forgot about that. "I can walk," I said to him. "I bet you can." He answered in return. He didn't bother to mind what I had said and just continued to walk but where is he taking me? When we were finally outside the Eris' Arena, I noticed that all of the students in this Academy stopped what they were doing when they saw me in Damian's arms. It's as if the time had stopped ticking, then they began to whisper towards one another. I took a glimpse at the man who's been carrying me in his arms but he was just coldly looking straight at the path that we are taking. He continued to walk quietly. It was a long walk. He brought me to the back building of the Arena. A massive tree was standing there, all alone. He put me down on the grass under the shadow of this big tree. I don't know what tree is this. I don't know anything about trees to put it simply. I noticed that he sat down beside me. "Why did you take me here?" I asked irritated but he didn't answer. I was taken aback when he lay down towards my leg. You have got to be kidding me! I was about to push him away but on second thought, he saved me. I might as well do this simple thing for him. Is he about to sleep? I sighed in disbelief. I don't know how to talk with this man. I closed my eyes and decided to relax but I remembered Vlad. Where are they? I wish that they could find me here. "Livia's not here in case you’re searching for her in this Academy." He began to talk. I glanced at him but his eyes were still shut. He's not looking at the person to who he's talking. How rude! I was searching for him actually. However, how did he know that we were searching for her? "But I know where she is." He added as he opened his eyes. He began to stare at me again. I was lost to those eyes. His eyes were grey, not dull, unremarkable grey, like the ashes or those as clouds forming when there's a thunderstorm. This eye seems dangerous though. Why the hell is this man so damn gorgeous? "Is there something on my face or you're just dazzled by my charms?" He said mockingly yet you can still feel the coldness from his voice. "You sure have lots of self-esteem," I answered and averted my gaze away from him. He's too daring to look at, even his lips are too... Wait! "Why did you even have to kiss me? A-and with that tongue!" I asked looking at him frustrated as I recall what happened inside this building in front of us. He went up and sat down again, then looked at me blankly. I’m so embarrassed so, I avoided those eyes of his. "I just feel like kissing you. Is there a problem?" He explained that made me face him once again. Little did I know, he was getting nearer. What the hell is he doing? I tried to pull my dagger under my skirt but he stopped my hands from doing so then he freaking smirked and gave me a peck on my forehead. What the hell? "What are you doing Damian?" Someone suddenly shouted angrily. I looked in front of us and it was Vlad alongside Jade. Thank God, they found me. I was about to stand up but Damian stopped me by holding my arm. What does he want? "You're all here." He said towards them. It made me glance at the twins who just arrived. "We've been looking for you, Vivian," Jade said. "That's sweet," Damian disrupted. Jade flinched from where she was standing. Damian's voice sounded like a devil. Hearing his voice like this gives me shivers down my spine. Despite that, he is one gorgeous man but he is dangerous... I can feel it. "Let her go, Damian," Liam said and walked forward. "Who?" Damian answered as if he doesn't know anything. He's irritating him! "So, you have her too." Vlad suddenly talked. Yes, if I were him, I'd think that Damian has Livia too. Who in the right mind would ask 'who' in this kind of situation? It's obviously me who they want you to let go of. I noticed Vlad getting pissed, they all are. Then, I realized that they were all panting when they got to where I was. Were they running? Were they running because they were searching for me? "Why?" Damian suddenly asked. "If I say that I have her too and I let you choose among this girl or that girl. Who will you choose, Vlad?" He asked another question. You can feel the coldness in his voice. He is asking seriously but what is he trying to imply? Is he testing Vlad or something? Why is he involving me in his question? I have got nothing to do with Vlad even though yes, I seem to like him but there's still something missing. "Of course. I'll choose her." Vlad answered immediately. I noticed that they were all looking at me except Vlad. They were waiting for my reaction but I just gave them my usual gaze but a very cold one. What do they want now? Do they already know that I started to like him? Do they want me to get jealous and make tantrums because he chose Livia? Well, in the first place, I don't give a damn about them. All I care about is finishing this mission but now they're getting on my nerves. "That's enough," I said and finally stood up. Thankfully, I regained my strength and I can easily stand up. Hopefully, I can walk straight. I started to walk and yes, I can. Damian didn't stop me anymore. He stood up as well. I looked at Vlad and the three. They look uneasy. Are they waiting for me to kill or something? I just rolled my eyes and looked at Damian. "Where is she?" I asked. He simply grinned in return. "I like to play a game." He began to state, changing the topic. I heard their footsteps coming toward me. "Don't." Someone whispered while grabbing my arms, it was from Tyler. He started to look paler though. I didn't mind him and looked at Damian once again. "There are two great pleasures in playing. That is winning and losing. What you risk reveals what you value." Damian said and focused his gaze on me. What is he talking about? I felt Tyler's grip tighten on my arms. He is scared of this guy. If this guy loves to play games, then I bet that they took part in it, then they all lose to his games. As I continue to observe them one by one, every time Damian looks at them, they all look tense. They were all terrified of him. "This is bad." Jade began to talk. She held onto my other arm. I think that they can sense that this guy wants to play with me. I smiled bitterly and shove their hands from my arms. "What do you want? Say it and we'll talk about it." I answered him as I step forward. The four looked at me in unison. They all have this 'why did you say that' face. "Simple. A game to see how long you'll last. You'll stay with me for a week. If you accepted my offer, I'll give you Livia's location and because we are all well acquainted before, I'll help you get her back." He answered. "Fine." I immediately answered. "No, Vivian, you don't know what he will do to you!" Tyler began to protest. I held onto his hand. Why is it cold? His lips are paler than before. Is he really sick or something? "Don't think and relax. I can take care of myself." I explained and let go of his hand. It seems like we have no other choice than this. He knows something, so I must do what is right. Besides, I think that there is nothing wrong with his demand. I don’t think that he won't hurt me too. He just saved me a while ago. It's only for a week. What could happen, right? "I accept the offer. Now, where is she?" I asked. He didn't answer. He was just silently staring me straight in the eye. It's as if he can't understand why I agreed to his game. Stop staring, damn it! My heart is beginning to ache again. I tried to calm myself while closing my eyes. Then, I looked at him once again but why is he looking at me like that? He was not staring at me anymore with his cold gaze. He was looking at me with a pleased expression on his face, and there, I was lost in thoughts. This feels bad.
