I’m on the rooftop of the third building, admiring the sky. It was filled with white delicate cotton-like clouds.
The weather today is nice but my mood isn’t.
My chest has been hurting ever since I met Damian and it gets worse every time I see his face.
Other than that, the information that I gathered in just two days was too much for me to handle. A lot of things had happened but they only occurred in those two days. I can’t keep up but I have to.
Am I stressed?
I better not be.
It’s just… I need to breathe.
I decided to go back to our classroom even though it was still early for the afternoon class.
Yet, when I was heading back, I saw that students were gathering at the gates of the Academy.
What is going on there?
Is there a fight?
Or better yet… I just need to be sure.
I went toward the students and see if my intuition is correct, it was. My heart started to thump.
“There you are.” He spoke leaning at his car.
The people around us glanced in my direction. I didn’t pay any attention and focused on the man who is walking toward me.
“What are you doing here?” I asked annoyed.
“I said I’ll see you soon.” He said and stopped in front of me. He looked at me from head to toe. I flinched when he held my hand.
“Let’s go” He added pulling me towards the car.
I was unable to answer him and just let him be. He pushed me inside then closed the door. After that, he went to the driver’s seat. I was absent-mindedly looking in front of the car.
“Seat belt.” He said when he got in while putting his. I put mine on in dazed. He started the engine after.
I’m ditching class again.
Well, who cares?
It’s just that I’m not comfortable being with this man.
Besides, I can’t leave Livia behind. I mean I should be observing here twenty-four hours a day.
However, the game…
“Is the game starting?” I asked confused.
“No.” He said without looking at me and drove off.
“Then, why am I here?” I asked frowning.
“Don’t know.” He replied.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
“Then, where are we going?” I asked.
“Don’t know.” He answered again.
I rolled my eyes then massaged the temples of my forehead. My heart is already aching and now my head too.
When will I ever have a decent conversation with this bastard?
I sighed and leaned on my seat. I glanced at the road that we are taking but it was unfamiliar. I don’t know where we are going but he better not do anything to me.
I decided to close my eyes to sleep. I haven’t had a good night's sleep last night due to what happened. I’ll let my guard down just for a few minutes since I know that he won’t hurt me.
I don’t know how long was I asleep but when I opened my eyes, the man with me is no longer inside the car.
I glanced outside and I realized that we were near some kind of a cliff. I saw the man standing near the edge. No one else was in this place beside us. He was quietly staring at the sky which was now painted in orange. It was beautiful to look at compared to the sky that I was admiring a while ago.
The sun is about to set.
I went out of the car and went towards him. He didn’t say a word when I got nearby.
“So, why am I here?” I asked to start a conversation.
I took a glimpse at the man beside me but he was just silently staring out of nowhere.
Then, I stiffen when his gaze shifted to mine. I saw those grey eyes again.
“You’re not scared to be here?” He asked averting his gaze. I don’t know what he means but this place makes me feel calm for some reason.
“This place is unexpectedly comforting,” I said smiling looking at the sun slowly going down. I didn’t hear an answer so I glanced at him.
Turns out, he was already staring at me.
“W-what?” I asked. He was blankly staring at me.
My eyes widened when I heard him chuckle softly. It was out of the blue. I thought that he always had this cold, mysterious and dangerous aura with him. I didn’t know he also has this side of him.
“So why did you bring me here? Is this some kind of special place?” I asked.
“She liked it here.” He simply said which made me stiffen.
Who?
Livia?
I was unable to ask whom he meant for the reason that I saw him smile but he was smiling so bitterly. My heart was aching again seeing him act like this. I breathed heavily as I tried to calm myself.
Who is that girl that turns you into this?
“Then why am I here?” I asked not looking at him.
“I don’t know.” He answered. I snickered a laugh.
As I thought I can’t talk with him seriously. I was about to ask him once again but he cut me off.
“It’s just every time I see you, I feel at ease.” He said which made me look at him dumbfounded.
He was smiling again... smiling happily.
Why?
My heart was thumping again, but faster now.
I was unable to answer him.
We just stayed there and quietly watch as the sun hide its existence. The sky was already dark when the bright full moon rises and lit up the vast sky.
I glanced at him for the last time.
I smiled.
He feels at ease when he sees me while I feel like I’ll die every time I see his face.
However, I noticed that each time that I spend time with him. My aching heart fades along but each time our eyes meet it hurts again.
I do not know what this is but I have to find out.
I have to find out... why I feel this way ever since I met him.
