Chapter 6 – The Academy

My name is Vivian, Vivian Yve Dandlers. I unexpectedly became an assassin at the age of 13. I've trained for four years and now I'm already at the age of 17.

I started to change ever since we were attacked at the mansion because I don't want to be a disappointment anymore. I want Mr. Azier to see that I am capable of fulfilling my missions without sympathizing with my prey.

Nowadays, all that I can think about is that I’m getting impatient. I badly want to hunt down that person who killed my Papa. I will make him suffer for what he has done.

Months had already passed ever since I started to get serious about my assignments. My life is often on the line but I didn't give up. It isn't time for me to die, not yet!

Ordinary people don’t know what is happening in this peaceful world and people like them treat me like a nobody.

On the other hand, people from our world fear my name. They have been keeping track of the new assassins who are dominating the underworld. I am now branded as one of the deadliest.

After killing hundreds of people and demons, no one ever dares to meet my gaze. I didn't know how I turned out into this but I can feel that I'm getting stronger.

These past few months, I didn’t even know how I managed to carry out my assignments so easily these past few months but one thing is for sure, I find pleasure in killing. It still gives me shivers when I realized that.

Believe me, I don't know why I feel this way too.

After completing the missions that were assigned for the children who died because of me that day at the attack. Now, I'm going to fulfill the mission which Mr. Azier instructed me. I have to find the person who has Aviana's soul.

I'll be able to know which person it is if that girl turned 18 or is behaving differently from other people. Based on the gathered information about Aviana’s soul, it says that they found someone who might have it.

The person was already born and is the same age as me. Although it wasn’t indicated whether it was a female or male, I will find that person no matter what it takes.

I stared at the enormous black gate in front of me. It opened when the guards saw me. Now that I am here, I can tell that a lot has changed in this Academy. There is a huge difference from the photo that I saw in the files of Mr. Azier.

I continued to walk inside when I noticed that all the gazes of the students were in my direction. They knew that I'm new here. You can tell by the way they look at you. It’s as if they wanted to eat me as a whole or something but hell as if I'd let them do that.

However, I can't attract any attention. I need to find her first or I might be caught and get killed here. I know that some other people are searching for her too.

I didn't mind them and just proceeded to walk. Long until I was finally at the office where Mr. Frank Gustavo who is currently waiting for me. He is already an old guy but still manages the Academy pretty well. His family belongs to one of the strongest before but the world of the mafia was already destroyed.

The other strong families were already dead and annihilated to the last of their kins. Despite that, new mafia families are beginning to dominate the underworld. However, it was decided not to have any rankings anymore.

I carefully opened the door of his office and went inside. I saw Mr. Gustavo seated on his chair looking at some papers on his desk. He took a glimpse at me when I came in, then I saw him sit properly. He stared at me from head to toe, then I saw him smirk.

"I didn't expect that you would be looking like that." He spoke.

What does he mean by that?

I looked at my long-sleeved green dress and is there something wrong?

Well, I'm not used to wearing dresses and such but I'm doing this for the mission. Just before I got the chance to talk, someone entered the room.

It was a guy. He has a masculine figure and a good-looking face. His blonde hair matches his green eyes and I mean eyes.

Why is he staring at me?

"Do I have something on my face?" I asked but he didn't bother to answer and just averted my gaze.

"Miss Dandlers, this is Mr. Liam Caine Gustavo. He will be showing you around the school and will bring you to your dorm." He said as he looked at the papers on his desk once again. I didn't know that the Mastavo Academy has a dorm inside.

"Is it necessary for me to stay here? I didn’t even bring anything." I explained. They both looked at me strangely.

"Follow the rules Miss Dandlers. This is for your own good." He spoke. It made me frown. I wasn’t informed and was not prepared for this.

"Don't worry. Mr. Azier wants you to be safe so I'm just here to help. Now all you have to do is trust me. All of the things that you’ll be needing are prepared inside your dorm." He added.

Mr. Azier requested this for me?

Does he know that I’m here?

I didn’t tell anyone though.

Well, he has a lot of connections and one of those is his friend, Mr. Frank Gustavo.

"It seems that there’s no way for me to refuse. Good day then!" I replied. I didn't argue anymore and went outside.

The young man from the office followed me, Liam was his name.

I took a step back because I don't know where we were headed.

Now, he is leading the way.

We made a tour first around the Academy. He kept on talking but I can feel the coldness in his voice, he doesn't like what he was doing.

Who won't be?

I too wouldn't want to walk around and talk nonstop.

After looking around the Academy, I think that we are finally heading to my dorm. I heard him say dorm a while ago. I wasn't listening to him because I won't need this kind of stuff. Yet, I noticed that he became quiet.

"You're looking for her too." He said out of nowhere. I was stunned so it made me stop walking.

"Her?" I asked but he simply grinned at me.

He knows why I'm here and he surely knows who the person I am looking for. I examined the place and it seems that there was no one here except us.

We are in a corridor of this building that seems to be abandoned.

I hurriedly went towards him and twisted his right arm.

"What the f**k are you doing?" He asked irritated. If he moves, his arm will break.

"Who is it?" I asked but he stayed silent.

I was about to continue breaking his arm but a guy suddenly appeared in front of us.

"What are you doing to my brother?!" He shouted and hurriedly pulled my arms.

He was trying so hard to pull me away from Liam but my body isn’t even moving from the force that he is exerting. I stared at him. He has the same features as this guy but he looks weak. No, he looks sick.

Hence, I looked at the two once again.

Why didn't I recognize who this guy is when Mr. Gustavo introduced him?

These are Mr. Gustavo's sons, the twins!

I also heard that the Gustavo family was searching for Aviana's soul. I don't know why but we might have the same goal because Mr. Azier knows Mr. Gustavo.

"What do you want from him?" The guy who looks weak shouted once again.

He stopped from pulling me by the way. I let Liam go and stood up, then move towards this weakling. I coldly stared at him. His eyes widened by my actions. I don't know why he is reacting like this but I think that he recognized who I am.

"She's Vivian." He suddenly said pointing at me. It made Liam look at me while holding his arm.

"Just as I thought," Liam stated.

"You're looking for her too." He added and grinned at me once again. I have to admit both of them are good-looking men but I don’t want to waste my time admiring men.

"None of your business," I answered and turned my back from them.
