“Sure,” boomed Tom, and none other than Gladys slid quickly into the guest chair that sat directly before his worn brown desk. Tom, wanting to get back to contemplating the dangers and opportunities that awaited him in beautiful, wealthy, sunny Santa Barbara, grunted, “Yeah?”
