CHAPTER FIFTEEN The man sat in the driver’s seat of his pick-up, smoking a cigarette on the side of the road. Tonight, he was just outside of Wyola, Montana. Airlia Birnbaum had quite the busy day. She’d spend much of the time hiking solo in Bighorn Canyon, only to get on the road, heading east, later that afternoon. She’d taken far too many selfies, posed near different natural landmarks, and she’d eaten a granola bar on a butte, staring out into the canyon below, probably wondering if this was how it would feel to be the only person alive.
