KIARA
Four years later, I am now the Luna of Moonwave pack and the top business owner of Wolf Corp, the leading business in the whole Werewolf kingdom.
Before my beloved Queen Avara passed on, she made sure I was sworn into power, spreading the news to everyone, both far and near, so they'll all be aware of my position.
She made sure my name wasn't given out to the public, only to those she trusts, like the councils, top managers at the company and so on. And she did all these just to keep Alpha Ray in the dark.
That proud and greedy bastard has been trying to get my attention after learning of the Queen's death. He feels the new owner of Wolf Corp would be better than the old Queen. But he hasn't seen anything yet.
"Mommy, is this nice?" I heard the angelic voice of my son, calling out to me from above the staircase in the mansion.
I lifted my eyes and gazed at my son, Arnold, wearing a little suit and standing right next to Jeffrey, my bodyguard.
"Oh my! You look stunning!" I commented on my son's outfit.
He proudly walked down the stairs with Jeffrey guiding him from behind, putting on a big smile as he said, "Pa got it for me! Now I can follow you to the office anytime."
"My sweet boy," I laughed, opening my arms wide to receive him. Arnold ran into my arms and gave me a big hug, showing off the suit once more.
"Can I sit on your table today? " He asked, giving the poppy eyes. But I can't let him sway me with his cuteness.
"Arnold, you're going to school no matter what. If you want to work alongside mummy and your Pa, then you have to be a good boy and learn. Will you do that for me?" I cupped, kissing his swollen face.
He wasn't pleased with the idea, but he eventually gave in. "Okay. I will learn."
"Thank you, my love, " I appreciated, looking at Jeffrey, who stood right behind Arnold, staring at me with a smile on his face.
I returned the gesture, dropping my eyes back on my son. "So, did you thank your Pa for the suit?"
"Oh... No, I didn't," Arnold responded, swaying his head.
I advised him to do what was right and he carefully turned around to face Jeffrey, diving into his arms for an embrace. "Thank you, Pa, " He appreciated, referring to Jeffrey as his father.
That planted a smile on my bodyguard's face, as he caressed Arnold's cheek, suggesting they head back to his room and change his attire. "Let's get you ready for school."
"Okay. Bye Mommy!" Arnold waved, following Jeffrey up the stairs. I waved back, feeling so happy to have my little angel in my life, as well as my great friend, Jeffrey.
Queen Avara was never wrong about Jeffrey that day. He took up the role of a great friend, bodyguard, and father figure to my Arnold when I needed someone by my side.
It's all because of him that my baby boy is alive. That's why I gave him that gift of being my son's father. And Arnold loves him so much. He can't do without Jeffrey for a day. He's always following him like a son to his father.
I've never felt so scared of what might happen when Jeffrey is not around to protect my son and I.
He's perfect in every way. Including in my plan against Alpha Ray.
It's thanks to him that I got to know how Alpha Ray has been coping in his pack for long. From his business problems to family matters, Jeffrey has been giving me so many helpful and useful details concerning Ray's life.
And most of his current situation taking place were caused by me, just to make things work faster.
After dropping Arnold at school, Jeffrey and I went down to the company were he gave me a report on Ray's million dollar goods he was expecting early this week.
"You wanted it destroyed, and you got it," He smirked, showing me pictures of a truck on fire right on the road in between Shadows Pack and a Red Crest pack. "We made it look like an accident, so no one would suspect a thing."
"Perfect," I commented, grinning at this with pleasure. "This will force him out of his shell real quick. That proud man thinks my company will hire someone like him from the comfort of his home? Well, he's going to see some real action real soon."
"How about now?" Jeffrey asked, opening an email on my system, so I'd see about a hundred or more unread messages that came in this morning.
And it all came from one person alone. "Ray?" My eyes grew large, seeing the frustration behind each email sent by the Alpha.
Each messages came in two minutes before the other. It felt so sweet to see the result of my attacks on him.
"I read a few of them and it contained records of his performance as the CEO of his own company, good qualification skills and excellent performances from the past. Then the last one was pleading for a chance to be selected as your partner, assuring you of a wonderful rise in the market," Jeffrey shared, almost laughing out.
"What a joke. Still, it's what I've been waiting for," I said, leaning comfortably in my seat. "Send him a reply. Let him know that the Luna would like to see him today. Give him from now to eleven."
"As you wish, my Queen, " Jeffrey obeyed, sending the email to Ray. And within a minute, Alpha Ray replied, showing how eager he was to come down to the company.
"Are you going to let him see your face?" Jeffrey had asked with concern, as we got ourselves ready to welcome Ray.
"Not at all. Moonwave's Luna can not be seen unless I allow it. For now, we keep my identity hidden," I replied, closing my laptop shut.
"And what if he feels your wolf? I mean... You did say the Goddess mated you two as one. What if he feels your aura and realizes you're the one? " He asked, looking bothered.
I didn't know how to answer that question, especially to someone like Jeffrey. The problem is that Jeffrey wasn't just my bodyguard and Ray's Pa... He's my Second mate.
I discovered this a year back when we celebrated Arnold's third birthday. We both felt the connection that night and since then, we never saw ourselves as Luna and bodyguard, but more than that.
Yet, my heart has failed to love another man after my experience with Ray. I made this known to Jeffrey, still he promised to wait for me until my heart is ready to accept him.
So, hearing him ask this question about Ray and the bond I once had with him... "If the Goddess wants it then fine. I just know that he's going to get what he deserves," I responded with seriousness.
Jeffrey hummed, saying nothing else. I bet he's curious to see what happens when Ray shows up.
Ten minutes to eleven, Jeffrey and I got a call from the secretary, informing us of Ray's arrival. I permitted him to come in, getting myself ready.
Soon, the desperate man stepped into my office and sat opposite my table as instructed by Jeffrey, who was present with me.
I had my seat backing him, so he wouldn't see my face.
I heard that annoying voice of his, as he began to appreciate me for answering his emails. "You don't know how pleased I am with your invite, Luna... Um..." He uttered, trying to get a name out of me.
I scoffed and said, making my voice sound deeper from the original tone, "I didn't invite you here to know my name, Alpha Ray. I want to see if you are worth partnering with Wolf Corp or not."
"Of course! I am worth it, Luna. And to show you how serious I am with this..." I heard something zipping from behind before seeing Jeffrey taking a folder from Ray, handing it to me. "That folder contains all my company's achievements and skills. You will see that I am indeed a business man," He bragged right behind me.
I don't need to turn around to see his expression. I can already imagine the smirk spreading across his face.
Checking with no interest, I asked, "What of last year's performance?"
"Last year's? Um..."
"I don't see a trace of it in your folder. And what about the current reports for this year?"
"The report is under work, Luna. But if you look closely at the past records, you'll see that..."
"Don't tell me that, Alpha Ray!" I raised my voice, tossing the folder to the back without caring where it lands. "If you want to partner with a well respected company as Wolf Corp, then you need to be a hundred percent ready! I can't work with a man who brings in old performances to my table! I want to see something fresh!"
"I...I... It's something... I am working on that, " He stammered, feeling the heat.
And to show him that I can be worst like Queen Avara, I ordered, "Get out, Alpha Ray. I do not need a man like you as my partner. The meeting is over."
