I really thought bringing Mark with us at the table would bring the two closer, but the way Sophee perceived him just wouldn’t fade away. It was full of anger and despise. I don’t even know when she reached that point of hatred towards Mark.
“Why are you bringing that guy here to our table?”
“And why did you bring Jay to our table?” I asked back when she surprised me by having Jay come with her to the cafeteria and me with Mark. It was the most awkward meet up we had for a lunch break.
“Jay is our friend.”
“Mark’s my friend.”
