16 - Caring cold

913 Words
After leaving the hospital, Stacey went straight back to her apartment. She looked at the place she has been living for the past two years and sighed. It might not look like much, but it meant so much for her. Now that everything's set on the stone, she has no reason to not move in with him. So before he told his man to rack her whole apartment, she decided to pack her stuff on own. She doesn't have many clothes. It was either leggings, oversized tee, blouses, and hoodies. She doesn't go out often, and if it weren't to the campus, or to the library, she only went to Philleas' apartment or the office. As she placed her folded clothes into the bag, she found a dress on the hanger. It was a simple navy colored dress, her most expensive dress. Philleas had bought her that dress. It was last summer when he took her to city V to inspect a business, and sign a deal. But who is she kidding, it was more like a summer vacation to her. They went to the beaches when their two-day trip turned a whole week, he had bought her multiple clothes, including this one. She had used it when they went to dinner, and that night they had waltzed together. She placed it on the bag carefully and went to pack her other things. Time passed without her realizing, and it's already noon. She laid on the bed for a brief moment when suddenly someone knocked on the door. She sighed, jumped off the bed to open the door, and unexpectedly, it is Phillieas who stood outside of her apartment. "You didn't go to the office, and neither are you home," he explained as if he could hear her questions. She nodded to him as he entered. He looked around and was pleased when he saw that her stuff are already packed. She leaned down, placing a book inside the bag, and her hair falls away from her face. His face changed, and he grabbed her immediately, taking a good look at her cheek as she looked at him stunned. She doesn't even realize there's a mark on her face. The slap mark wouldn't last this long, so it must be Savannah's ring scratching her face. "I accidentally scratched my face," she told him casually, but his expression didn't change and after a while, she sighed. "Who is it?" "I ran across Savannah. It's no big deal." After glaring at her for a few more minutes, he hummed in response and turned around. He went to a cabinet and opened it and grabbed an ointment. Philleas uncapped it and gently applied it to her face. She only sat in silence, letting him do what he does. It was always like this between them. He would always be unexpectedly attentive, and she would silently enjoying the treatment. Suddenly, she smiled at him, and her eyes light up. "My results will come out in two weeks. How does country S sound?" He backed away when he's done applying the ointment, and ignored her question. Stacey jumped off the bed to follow him, and he scoffed. After handing over her stuff to the chauffeur, Philleas drove away from the area and with Stacey's persuasion, the car pulled over to a supermarket. Philleas followed her in silence, pushing the cart as she walked along the aisle, scanning what they should get. At the noodle aisle, Stacey found the famous noodles from the Grammy award movie. Just when she's about to reach it, Philleas blocked her and shook his head. "But-" Stacey sighed, and walked away, knowing there's nothing to be done. She regretted letting him taste her noodle the other day. Had she asked to eat outside instead, he wouldn't go against her eating noodles. It seemed like he had it figured out that she ate those noodles quite often. Her lips twitched at the thought. It's not like she had voluntarily get hungry in the middle of the night, or in a tight budget. Once they're done, they walked out of the store and went back to Philleas's apartment. Her stuff are already waiting for her to unbox in the living room. Philleas dropped their groceries at the kitchen and brought her box of clothes into the room as he went to clean himself. Stacey started to prepare dinner. thirty minutes later, she finished cooking, and Philleas entered the kitchen. She picked the dishes to his plate and gave him a smile. They ate in silence, and when he tasted it, he glanced up to her. "New recipe?" She sighed, he finally talked to her again. She gave him a nod. "How was it?" Stacey knows how to cook, but her knowledge is limited, and most of the time, she's too lazy, or to busy to do it. She only cooks occasionally, but most of the time, those are similar recipes. So it's not hard for him to tell that it's a new one. Philleas hummed, affirming her that it doesn't taste bad. The corner of her lips are tugged, and she ate contently now that he's no longer ignoring her. Her eyes grow, and she hummed when she tasted her own cooking. It unexpectedly tastes better than she expected. It's no wonder he didn't ignore her after the food. 111020
