Set Me ON FIre

594 Words
"It burns " I screamed at my pack mates while they tied me down to an anchor in the ground, basking in the moonlight. Lying on my back , arms above my head . My wrists were bound together in the middle of the ceremony circle. Ever since my 16th birthday five years ago, the moonlight that encouraged my peers to shift burns me from the inside out, but tonight, they want to kill me for amusement on my 21st birthday. I pull at the chains that are made from silver and wolf's veins so no one can interrupt their fun, "What kind of wolf is afraid of the moon goddess?" Alan, the heir to the pack, sarcastically snarled at me. Alan is the only one who can release me, but he won't. To him, this excites him; torturing me and embarrassing me is his favorite thing to do. Now it isn't any different. I pleaded with them again. I felt hot to hot, I was so scared that I was going through my first heat. I looked over to Alan, and I could tell he was excited by his look towards me. Our eyes met. “ Tonight is our night. You know you belong to me to do whatever you want with!” Alen's mind linked me. I am at my limit. It feels like my body is falling apart. Alan dismissed the rest of the pack and declared a shutdown; no wolves were to come out of their homes or dorms. I know what he is thinking. I know what he wants. Alan got close to me, he ripped my shirt, and started touching himself through his pants. He kissed my neck and sweetly whispered he loved me in my ear, but that's hard for me to believe at times. “I need to get out to Moonlight. It is destroying me, please.” I was cut off as my bones started to crack. Alan released my wrist, grabbed my hand, and rubbed my forehead. “Your first shift feels like hell, breathe and stop screaming.” He whispered in my ear. I clench my teeth and bear it. I can see the tree start to get smaller and closer to the moon. The pain subsides, and I can breathe now. Alan shifts, but he is below me. Wait, why am I in the air? “ Land before the warriors see you, Amber!” I tried to reply; however, fire commented out of my mouth, setting the sacred circle on fire. Alan growled, approaching me. Flashbacks from this morning, when the pack cornered me to tie me down played in my mind. I have to run, I have to get away. I ran soaring through the skies, the warrior patrolling the lockdown, spotted me, and one jumped and bit me. I screamed, and then the pack house was set on fire. Another warrior jumped and bit me. I tried to hold it in, but the training hall became bright and hot. “ We are not under threat; that is my possession back down,” Alan commanded the entire pack through mind link. Alan, the pack alpha, and the warriors chase after me, while the others fight to put out the fires. I feel myself getting tired, and I need to rest. After I shook off the warriors, the only place to go was Moon Goddess Lake. I’m not sure how to land, so I face plant on the lakeside, crawling to the ledge. I froze. “Why am I a Furry dragon?
