Chapter 4: Normal Days

Mei's POV;

I got distracted by the alarm clock and as I open my eyes, rays entered my room through the curtain that was being waved by the wind. I sighed while feeling the warmth and calmness in the atmosphere.

But when I reached out my phone in the table beside me, I touch nothing.

"The hell, where's my pho-"

I quickly stood from my bed while having a thought that I might being robbed and was thinking more when I notice the open window. As far as I know, I don't leave it open especially when I'm sleeping.

"Oh no! I'm so so very late! I didn't wake myself up earlier and the worst is my phone was lost! Darn it!!" I scolded myself like crazy.

"Shut up, you witch." I hear a voice inside my room and just when I turn to where the voice came from, a huge ball of paper hit my forehead.

"What the hell?!" I flinched.

"Just how thick your face barging into my..... room...?!"

A familiar appearance that was sitting in my swivel chair came into the view while busy writing and then swiftly turned to me with his arm crossed and with an ash gray cat sleeping at his lap.

"Good afternoon, Amethyst Scarlette." He coldly greeted me with his lazy eyes.

"RIKKIE?! What are you doing here?!" I exclaim.

"You think?" He frowns, made me look at the papers at the table back to him and to the table.

"Err..... doing some activities? Project? I think?"

"i***t. We're lack of materials so you, go out. And buy."

My jaw drop by his words. Unbelievable

"Did you just order me to buy some stuff?!"

"I'm not a deaf so lower your voice. Don't try to wake Pixie from my lap and Brutus from your bed."I look below my feet and saw a black dog sleeping silently.

"Anyway how did you get in here?" Confused and a bit embarrassed I felt right now.

"Your uncle just left after Andgry comes here to visit you. So he called me."

And then the door opened and reveal a guy holding a tray full of cookies and two cups of ice coffee. My idiotic friend is here.

"You're awake?" He ask sarcastically with his eyebrows raise.

"I'm not?" I replied, giving him my lazy gaze.

"Just kidding. Good afternoon, Madame." He then flash his bright smile.

"Tsk don't call me like that. Anyway, is uncle really here?" I ask.

"Yeah, just a while ago. He said he'll visit you when he had free time. Also, he brought some good deeds for you but don't worry, I already put it to where it should be."

"Okay?"

"By the way, what do you mean you're late? Are you going somewhere?" Rikkie ask, making me pause for a while and came to the realization.

"I mean... I'm late for the class. Wait, why you guys were so chill? Just what day is today?" I say but they just laughed at me and to my shock, Rikkie flick my forehead and I nearly jump and fall off my bed, I didn't notice him getting near to me until now.

"It's already Saturday! Did you forget it?"I blink.

"What?! So means....." I point my finger in the void while thinking.

"We already have one day left before the deadline to our presentation. And since you are awake..... YOU NEED TO BUY THE MATERIAL FOR OUR PROJECT BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE TIME LEFT!!!" Andgry slam the table for the three times.

I become silent. When I understand what they meant, I rushed out from my bed, kicking them all out of my room except for Brutus that was sleeping peacefully and went to the bathroom.

I prepare myself within five minutes and was getting ready to run to the store. Only wearing a jogging pants and a regular shirt, grabbed my wallet and my phone inside the drawer then the key and went downstairs.

"Are you done?" The two of them asked while waiting patiently at the couch as I descended from my room.

"Yup. Uhh..... Rikkie, are gonna leave your pets here?"

"Of course. I'll come back here anyway."

"Then let's go? Shall we?"

The two of them came out, followed by me as I locked the door. And we went to the mall by just walking, it's not too far from here.

"I thought I'm the only one who will buy the materials?" I finally asked them the question.

"Ahhh..... I also have to buy something." Andgry say.

"And you?" I turn to Rikkie's side.

"I just want to. It's kinda boring when you're staying inside your house so I decide to go with you two."

"Since you two are here, how about you treat me some ice cream, please?" I beg with matching puppy eyes.

"Alright." He agrees.

"Yay!" I jumped up of joy however, the other guy's judgemental attitude start to dominate him again.

"But Rikkie, didn't they say that adult don't eat ice cream?" Andgry ask, I know he meant something.

I gave him my death glare. But he just returned me his mocking smirk.

"Maybe?" Rikkie only replies.

"Because they say, when a grown-up person who will eat ice cream will think that they're still a kid when it didn't even fit to their apperanc- Ouch!" He flinch and rub his arms where I slapped it hardly.

"Pftt-" I heard Rikkie scoffed.

"Stop that prejudice of yours!"I warned him.

"Does it still have to necessary for you to slap my arms?! Why do all women like that habit?!"

"Ha?! Then what do you me want to do?! Do you want me to punch you?! Or do you prefer this shoes will end up in your face?! Huh?!" I say, showing the shoe I wear.

"Then so be it!" He answered, making my blood boil.

"Shut up you two, will you?!" Rikkie yell at us, causing some crowds to turn to our direction but we don't care as the two of us turn to the guy ahead of us.

He sighed and look at us seriously.

"No. Ice. Cream. To. Day." My eyes become teary by the words he drops one by one.

"Nooo!! Please don't say it Rikkie please~~" I begged, I almost kneel down to him.

"You know how much I love ice cream. I don't have any money right now to buy some ice cream so please? Could you?" Yet he just stare at me.

"Heh! That's better, don't be such a spoiled brat. Practice yourself, you're not a kid anymore. And as I say, that habit don't fit you well." Andgry on the other side, look at me like I'm a sort of foolishness.

"Dang it! I only requests sometimes!" I snorted.

"Sometimes? Are you sure?"

"This is all your fault! Eating ice cream doesn't mean I am being a childish. It's for increasing my mood!! Are you some kind of stupid?!"

"Stop it-" I hear Rikkie say but he instantly interfered.

"I'm not stupid! It's just that you are way more dumb-"

"Ahem! Are you now fighting?"

"We're not!!"

"Then if you're already done, we'll keep going." He finally get our attention as he cleared his throat, obviously cutting Andgry's words.

"Oh... Sorry." I apologized and give the guy beside me a threatening eye and walk away before I might slap him unconsciously.

We became silent for more than hours. I didn't spoke as we're getting separate. My temper lost because of that guy but after all, I don't have a very bad opinion about him. It's weird though yet I enjoy their company.

As I roamed myself around the shelf looking for the materials we needed, a book caught my attention. It was the infamous novel, The Lord Of The Rings.

I left it from the shelf as my eye were sticking to it's glamorous cover when I bumped someone behind me. And as I turn my head, it was my friend and one of my classmates, leaning his gaze to the book I hold, making my back almost reach his chest.

"Eh, Gian? What are you doing here?" I blinked.

"Same goes to you. What are you doing here?" He ask me back so I just show my awkward smile.

"Buying some stuff? For the presentation." I answered then put the book back to it's original place but to my surprise, before I could return it, he snatch the thing from my hands.

"Errmm..... I don't know that you also like that." I scratch my head in shame for not recognizing that he also want it.

"It isn't notable though. Are you here all alone?" He ask while picking some books in the shelf behind him.

"Nope. I was with Rikkie and Andgry. And you? I also don't see Jommel either, where is he?" I roam my eyes.

"Searching for me?" A guy wearing a sky blue sweater that match his dark skin arrives with his arm crossed and was leaning on the shelf.

"Ahh okay. Good to see you two then. Gotta go now. Bye bye!" I slightly wave my hands and quickly walk away.

"You're leaving this fast?" Gian frown and I nod, saying that I have to see the two guys.

But before I completely got away, I hear a question from Gian.

"Are you going to attend to school this monday?" He asked hindwards.

"Yes! I am!"

After a half of hours waiting for the two boys in the bookstore, I sat on the bench. With a plastic bag that was full of stuffs that we needed, I grab my phone and texted them.

[Mei: Hey idiots!! Where in the world are you two now?!]

And I was about to press the home button after chatting them when suddenly, I got a notification.

[Andgry: Where are you now?]

[Mei: Outside at the bookstore, faster!]

[Andgry: Darn, just hang in there for a minute! The place is crowded, we're having hard time getting into the counter!]

[Mei: Oh... Okay? Just be quick!]

I turn it off and observe the surrounding quietly. This habit may weird to the others but for me, I like to read the movement, the atmosphere or anything that involves the planet Earth.

'I sometimes wonder if humans were just the only creature in the world that has a ability to talk, to drive, to do something that they want or what they need like a daily quest in the daily life of a human being.'

But then, a group of girls invade the way to the door as they were shrieking and some even brings a cardboard with a letter of someone and seems like they're looking for that person. After their voices fades and lost in my sight, a guy wearing a white hood with a mask sit on the other side of the bench where I also sit.

I didn't mind him and just stay silent, still waiting for Andgry and Rikkie when my stomach rumbled. And I think he also heard it because he look at me so I just give him a little awkward smile.

"Are you ill?"

"I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" He ask again so I nod.

"Or perhaps you're hungry?"

"I really fine. And it doesn't concern you." I straightforwardly said because I don't want to look like a pity yet the realization strike into me, he got me.

'Oh, I forgot to eat. Darn it, do I seems like a wretched hobo today?'

I sighed and become quiet again while enduring the hungriness, hoping that he won't ask any further. And I breath comfortably like I was being freed up from the chain of the angel of death when he took his leave.

"Geez! Why took so long bastards?! I wanna go home right now. Andgry, this is all your fault! Just you wait and I'm gonna kill you! Damn, I'm so hungry." I murmured when someone hand me a burger.

"Then why don't grab some snack while waiting for them?"

"WHAT THE HECK?!" I jumped in shock as he came back.

"I know you're hungry. Have some."

"Who are you? Just what do you want?" My face turn into serious mode.

"Nothing particularly. Just wanna help you a little and beside, it does really concern me." My eyes widened.

"Ha! You? A stranger concern about me? Thank you but I'm not. So you should stop that, I don't even know you!" I smiled bitterly.

"Aww... Do you really see me now as a stranger? That's kinda hurt my heart." He say, making me turn to him and walk at his direction, pushed him lightly in the wall.

"You're getting weird yet becoming familiar. Just who really are you?"

I lock my gaze and that's when he decide to take off his mask. And as he did it, I cannot feel the time flows and everything went to the slow motion.

My heart's beating unsteadily while looking from his hair to his skin and to his long hands and mostly his scent. I can smell it, as if I've meet him and longing for his scent and when I saw his whole face, he smiled, making my eyes grow larger and I almost cry.

"Guess who?" His soft voice I hear that make me smile widely and hugged him.

"Harreith....."
