Tommy’s time at high school rolled on, and while he applied himself diligently in his studies, he was never much more than an average student. He made the grade, but did not set the school world on fire, because his mind was always on the mat, his passion always Judo.
Viktor always encouraged Tommy to test his strength and skills against bigger and better opponents, entering him in as many competitions as possible. Always fighting in older age groups and against bigger fighters, Tommy quickly progressed through the ranks and at the tender age of 17, he was fighting for the open age championship against much more experienced Judoka fighters when he was noticed by a nameless observer in the crowd, scribbling furiously in a notebook and surreptitiously videoing Tommy in his match
