Chapter 73 True to his word, the Captain hurried us out of Ukraine without a minute’s delay. There was no trouble at the border crossing and no questions asked. We drove through the night and into the next day, sleeping much of the way and the rest of the time replaying in our minds the madness of the last few days. On the way to Bucharest we got in touch with George, who was still in town. He picked us up from the Captain, who promptly turned around and started the long drive back to Chernobyl, content that the potential publicity crisis had been averted.
