‘What the hell is going on here?’ muttered the radiographer. ‘My X-ray machine is really playing up today. The last three people I’ve had in here, I haven’t been able to get a clean image!’ He grabbed the phone and called the hospital technician to come and investigate. ‘Leonid, have you checked my X-ray machine recently or recalibrated it or something? It’s messing up all my images today and I’ve got a huge backlog of cases to get through!’
‘No,’ came the laconic response from the other end of the phone. ‘I’ll come up and check it out. Calm down and go and get yourself a coffee while I look at it.’
