I'm not calling her that...

Talon

It took longer than normal before I felt the Demon Wolf vanish to where ever it went. I opened my eyes and looked at the Cretin. She was looking up her eyes were wide.

"She's a mother f*****g Parrot!" She blurted out making me laugh. She looked at me quickly. "She's a parrot!" She shouted at me point as if I didn't know my Cousin was a parrot who was terrified I'd eat her. I was certainly going to take a chunk out of her wings when she flies past me.

"I told you Cretin. The House of RavenWolf some can Transform." She frowned. Her eyes huge.

"Actually I told her." Mosi interrupted. I ignored the d**k head. Who even was he?

"She's a parrot!" I think she's broken. I looked at Mosi.

"I think Amber broke the Cretin...." He gave me a disapproving look. A moment later Amber flew down but by the time her feet touched the floor she was a girl. Glaring at me.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You scary f*****g bastard!" She hissed at me before looking at the Cretin. "Let's go before he starts to dry hump your leg." I heard a few snorts and laughter but I refused to notice it. The Cretin looked at me with a smirk. She pushed herself up slowly to see if I'd grab her. When I didn't.... Thankfully.... She followed Amber out of the room. I stared at the door. Everything in me wanted to go after her but I could see the looks around the room. That wouldn't have been wise. Nope. Not wise at all.

"Talon what is going on with you?" Linc demanded. Since he practically raised me for the first few years my mother died, he had more pull on my attention that Conan. I loved my father but he barely had any parental role in my life. Linc did. I let out a huff.

"I have no idea." I dropped my head back dramatically.

"He said... before he lost it... That he saw the girl last night and her scent did something to him. Like it consumed him and he couldn't focus on anything but her. That was before....." Luke started but Linc cut him up.

"That's what happened when you growled and completely ignored us speaking to you. You were panting and growling...." I glanced a look at Linc as he stood by the fire place but all of them were looking at me.

"I was overwhelmed by all the smells and noises out there. I was pissed off with having to go in the first place because with Dom leading it. I knew it was going to be a s**t show and then we had to sit in that van for ours. I felt caged. I felt on edge and then suddenly I could smell Meadow Sweet. Before I knew it everything around me vanished. I could smell anything but that scent. I couldn't hear all the heartbeats. I could heart just one. I looked up and I saw her. She was leaning against the wall holding a bottle of water looking freaked out. As freaked as I had felt a moment before. Before I could control it. Demon Wolf was growling and trying to take control. I was able to pull it back quickly but it unsettled me. When we went into the house I could still smell her even though she wasn't there. Then Clan said that a human saw him and threw me that bag I knew it was her. That's why I didn't want to chase after her. I didn't want to chase after her and I didn't want to have to be responsible for her but now I am and I can't control this f*****g Wolf in me. He's insane. He keeps taking over and wants to just consume her. Which I'm trying not to allow but it's hard. You lot have no idea what it's like to have a Predatory animal like a wolf living inside you constantly....." I looked at my father. "I know you have a Jag but seriously. I'd rather that than this Demon Wolf." My father frowned and looked at Jai.

"Look I know it's got to be hard. There's not been a Wolf Transformation RavenWolf since the Dark one who could change into the Wolf and Raven but Talon you have to control him. You know how much this family is watched. If Hector hears about yours reaction to the human then I have no idea what he'd do to you. The fact is when everyone discovered you had a Wolf as your transfer animal, they wanted to lock you up." I remember. "The whole House of Artair is waiting for you to become the next Dark one and transform into a Raven. Right now you can't afford to be anything but invisible. You need to watch this girl until Hector can figure out how to Mindsweep her. Then you will return her to her life. Do you understand?" I clenched my jaw. I was so sick of being reminded of how worthless I was.

"Talon...." Jai said when I struggled to answer my father. I looked to him. Jai gave me a smile. "Buddy I know that out of all of us, you've had it hard. I get that. I do but with the execution of Rowan. The attacks from the House of Orpheus. The young lad being found and now this girl being immune to Hector's power. The whole of Mageia is on edge. We need to be as invisible as we can. You mostly. One day you will take your father's place and be Head of the Family. From there you'll be......" I'll be under more pressure than I am now. I knew that. Jai did too because he stopped and gave me a pained expression. "Surely you get it. Ever since Easton and Rowan turned against Mageia this family has trodden on Eggshells. Our hope is that one day we can be seen as equals again. That's not going to happen if the Heir of the house goes crazy and starts sinking his teeth into a Human." Luke snorted at that. Getting a elbow to the side from Mosi. Jai grinned at me teasingly. I let out a sigh. Knowing he was right. I mean we've been over this alot. When I beat up six of the House of Magna because they called me a freak when I was eight. I had this talk for the first time. Or more it was the first time I understood it. Form there.... I've had it often.

"Besides the fact that today as been a crazy day should we not discuss why this girl was immune to Hector and why Talon is going crazy with the Human?" My auntie June asked. I looked over at her. Wyatt's wife was unlike most of us RavenWolves. She had blonde hair. Pale skin and bright blue eyes. She was also from a very wealthy family. When she fell in love with my uncle her parents were so against it they cut her off and stopped speaking to her. Even now they don't speak to her. Wyatt hates it. He tried all the time to make amends but it was pointless. As long as she was married to a RavenWolf they weren't going to speak to her. They had never even looked at Toby. Their son. He didn't care. Or more he made out he didn't care. Though the House of Artair is a small place to be when trying to avoid someone. Believe me.

"Do you think it's connected?...." Leon asked looking to Father. I don't think it was. I just think that something in me was seriously attracted to her. Speaking of which where the f**k was she?

"Cretin!" I shouted making everyone jump. It was deadly silent before I saw her appear in the kitchen door way. Her hands on her hips. I could almost taste her skin. It made my mouth water.... f**k sake. I needed to be put down.

"I already told you! It's Phoenix Juniper!" She shouted at me with a glare.

"I'm not calling her that...." I muttered itching my head.

"Did you want something or are you going to start dragging me around again?" That was..... I looked at her beautiful hair. Her eyes flared with attitude. I really wanted to grab her to me. I hated that.

"What the f**k are you doing in there? Planning an escape. Hurry the f**k up!" I growled. She flicked me the finger then disappeared. t**t. I looked back to Leon.

"What were we talking about?" I asked with a lifted eyebrow. He looked ready to shake me.

"Maybe someone else should look after the human...." Muttered Wyatt. I agree. For a moment I wanted that Human away from me but then I thought about not having her near me. Nope. I don't want anyone to take the human.

"Talon seriously can you handle being around the Human?" Jai asked me seriously. I opened my mouth to say something but the Human came back into the room carrying a mug. She looked at Jai.

"Phoenix. My name is Phoenix. Not that hard to remember. I pretty much have most of your names down and there's alot of you. There's only one of me..." She was sassy. I liked it. Toby looked highly impressed. Jai sighed.

"Fine can you handle being around Phoenix?" Jai looked at me. I glanced at the Human as she went to sit by Mosi. Amber came in giving me a firm look. I cleared my throat. The Cretin looked at me. I pointed to the seat next to me. She looked ready to disobey me. I felt my eyes dark with the orange.

"Don't make me come get you." She looked at Mosi with a roll of her eyes making him laugh before she came over to me and dropped down next to me. Dramatically. I looked over at the mug in her hand. I could smell coffee. I reached up and pulled it from her hand. She didn't even raise to it. I took a good gulp then passed it back to her. It was a little sweet as I didn't take sugar but whatever. She looked at her coffee. Then me before looking back at the cup. She shrugged before sipping it.

"I don't know if that answered my question or not." Jai muttered looking at his brothers. I know that this woman was going to make me crazy.

"Miss Juniper your phone has been ringing non stop. If I allow you to answer it can you come up with an excuse for you to be away for a few days....." Dad asked her after a moment of her drinking from her cup. My stomach growled loudly. I looked over at my Auntie. She was already smiling at me. I gave her a pleading look. She got up to make me something to eat. I know I should have but someone has to watch the human. She might murder everyone while I was whipping up a bacon sandwich. Scary.

"Yes." The Cretin answered. Dad reached into his pocket and pulled out a phone in a Zebra print Case. He passed it to Toby who reluctantly got up and came over. Holding the phone out in front of her.

"Loudspeaker please...." Dad said as the Cretin took the phone. Toby sat back down. I watched as she touched the screen. I was surprised by her fifteen missed calls. Eight messages. Six missed video calls. I don't think I ever had that many calls in a week let alone on night. She flicked them away as she opened her screen to a picture that was of her with a couple. I'm guessing they were her parents. She moved to contacts and pulled up a number that said Dad. She pressed call then held it out in front of her as she pressed loudspeaker. It barely run before a deep voice answered.

"Nix? Nix baby is that you?...." I looked at her. For the first time she looked sad. She looked worried.

"Daddy it's me." She whispered.

"Baby what is going on? I've been calling you. You didn't come home last night. You didn't show up for work. Lara called worried because you left early and then didn't turn up for work. Everyone's worried. We called Dean to see if you were with him. He's been out with your mother all morning looking for you. We thought someone murdered you or kidn*pped you." s**t. I winced. His fear was the most real thing I had ever heard. Here people tend not to saw too much feelings. The Cretin looked down at the phone. She looked ready to cry. I wanted to reach out and hold her hand. I didn't. Of course.

"Dad calm down. I'm OK. I had a moment. I freaked out. I just....." She stopped a frowned. She didn't know what to say.

"Nix if something is wrong you can tell me. Tell me where you are. I'll come get you...." She closed her eyes and shook her head. I felt eyes burning my brains. I looked from her over to where my Dad stood. He nodding his head for me to do something. Great.

"Ummmm Cr.... Phoenix sweetie you done with that coffee...." I asked taking the mug from her hand. Saying her name felt strange in my mouth. She looked at me very quickly. Eyes wide. They were glassy.

"Who's that?" Her Dad asked.

"Oh sorry I didn't know you were on the phone...." I gave her a small nod for her to do something. She blinked a couple of times before looking back down at the phone.

"Baby girl what is going on? Are you with someone? What about Dean?" Dean? Wait does she have a boyfriend? Husband? I leant forward and sniffed her. She moved back a little. Frowning.

"Why are you sniffing me?" She slapped me on the forehead. I moved back quickly. Shaking my head out. I couldn't smell any man on her so who ever he was, they weren't that intimate. If they were I could smell it on her.

"Phoenix Rose Juniper will you tell me what the f**k is going on?" Her Dad shouted losing it. She glared at me as she lifted her phone in front of her mouth.

"Dad... I ummm....." She let out a sigh and looked at the phone. "Dad everything is fine. I am fine. I am not with another man. I am just staying away for a few days. I'll be home soon. Tell Mum and Dean I'll be home soon. Don't worry I'm alright. I promise Dad.." What that's never going to work.....

"OK baby I'll call in a few days. I hope you enjoy yourself. Love you." What the fuck.....

"Love you Dad!" With that she hung up. Quickly putting her phone down in my lap. I stared at her.

"What the hell was that? He was freaking out and a suddenly he buys that you're fine. No one goes from being that freaking thinking you've been murdered to being completely calm with a shitty excuse...." She looked around the room carefully before she looked back at me. Before I could do anything she put her hand on my chest. I felt like I was being dragged underwater. A noise that sounded like a pop came before I looked around us. What the f**k? No one was moving. Everyone was frozen still.

"No... no, no, no before you freak out and pull away from me. Know that I can't keep you with me if you take my hand off you. Look I don't know anything about your world. That's true. I don't know about any of this Houses things or powers. All I know is when I was thirteen I created a fire ball in my hand. From there one I've been able to do unexplainable things. I can effect the weather. I can get into people's minds and calm them down when they're losing it or upset. I can turn into a Wolf. I can even heal someone who's hurt...." No. I shook my head. This was impossible. She blinked a few times as tears rolled down her face but then I noticed her eyes. They were Bright Green. Much like my Father's had been before.

"Oh my s**t you were in my head. You were in my head when I attacked you...." She nodded carefully. Keeping her hand to my chest even as I put my hand over it. This isn't possible.

"Right now I'm creating a bubble. Anything outside that bubble is frozen. Apart from us. I don't know why I'm like this. My parents are human. I always thought I was crazy. My parents even got me Section once before I told them I had powers. They thought I was having a nervous break down. I learnt to hide my power. I thought I'd never understand it but then last night I saw you stood there across the street looking out of place and something in me knew.... I somehow knew you were like me. The Wolf in you is reacting to the wolf inside me. When I was in your mind I heard him...." What? She heard him? She's a wolf? No. That's impossible. Not one could have more than one Power. I shook my head.

"No. This doesn't happen. No one gets more than one power....." I started but she gave me a look. Her eyelashes fluttered.

"Lets not lie about that Talon. I know that you have more than one power. You're more than the Wolf. I know that no one knows but you have the power of Empathy too. I can smell it on you. I can see it in your Aura. It's mixed with colour. Unlike every other person in this place. Yours is mixed...." I panicked. No one could know about that. I went to yank her hand off me so I could go and toss her in a deep black hole so no one could ever find her but she shook her head. Looking at me pleadingly.

"I get it. I get that this place is run strict with rules and something is going on with your family. I can feel it in this room and I heard your uncle speaking to you about it. The fact is Talon we both have a secret. I need you to help me get through being here so I can go home and I can help you. I have many powers Talon. I'm limited to one. If you help me learn how to control them, I can help you. I can get that d**k Hector to ease off you. I don't know how to control them. What I'm doing right now is out of instinct. When I panic or I'm scared they came without control. I almost lost it in that room when Hector was touching but as soon as I touched you. You calmed me down. I know I had the same effect on you when I touched you. Maybe it's because we can both transform into Wolves. Maybe they recognize each other but I know that this thing that's happening to you is freaking you out...." I had no word. This shouldn't happen. This shouldn't be happening but I couldn't stop thinking about that voice that said

'Easy'

To me when I was losing it. I can't stop thinking about how effected I am by her. How effected the Demon Wolf is. He knew there was power in her. He felt it that's why he's been so drawn to her. I looked around the front room to see no one had moved. They were frozen still.

"When Hector touched you, did you stop him from Mindsweeping you?" She shook her making me look back to her. Though I watched tears fall down her face.

"No. I told you. I can't control it. When he and the Percy guy touched me nothing happened. I don't know if I was able to stop it by instinct or if I'm just not effected by his power. Please help me Talon......." Her plead .... She was really terrified. Like seriously terrified. More of this power in her than being here in a strange place. Being here surrounded by us all. I could understand why. I was worried about having two powers. It's true. From the moment I was born I was able to feel people's emotions. I thought it was tied into the fact that I could smell how people felt. I thought it was all tied into the Wolf inside me but the older I got the more I realised that I had more than one power. I never told soul yet here she was. A human. Who had every sort of power. "Please help me...." I looked down at her hand on me. Normally I wouldn't like someone touching me but right now.... With her touching me. I liked it.

"I can't control what happens with him...." I warned.

"I know." She didn't sound worried or need me to explain what I meant. "I'm not afraid of you Talon. I can understand you when your growling...." What? I looked up at her. She smiled gently.

"I don't.... What do you mean?" I don't get it.

"I'm a wolf too. They understand each other." They did? She nodded. I didn't know what the hell was happening. This was a dream right. "I'm going to let go now. We're going to be back in the room. Please act normal?" She breathed before she pulled her hand from my chest. Another sound of a pop came before I heard my father's voice.

"Talon?" I looked towards him.

"Uh?" All of them were looking at me as I held onto her hand that was now in my lap. I needed to get out of here so I could get her alone to talk to her about this properly. I don't know what is going on or who this woman was but I was going to find out if it's the last thing I do.

An hour later I had made an excuse to leave my father's house. I grabbed the Cretin and dragged her out of there. She moved along behind me having to run a little to keep up as I wasn't so kind. We moved past all the houses of the Powered. We kept going. It was a good twenty minute stomp of me dragging her past the houses and into the woods where not alot of people went. I dragged her down a trail. We kept going until we were at Quimble Lake. I loved coming here. It was beautiful. Plus no one else came. It was now midday and the sun was out. Thankfully. The light was full with life. There was wild flowers surrounding the bank of the Lake. Ducks swan across the water. There was even a Heron sat on a branch in the middle of the Lake. Watching the water.

"Wow it's beautiful here...." I looked at her as I let go of her hand.

"Enough of that. I want to know what the hell you are...." I moved back from her and crossed my arms over my chest. She chewed on her bottom lip as she stared at me before she sighed.

"I'm human or more I have human parents. I was normal until I was thirteen. One moment I was furious. The next I threw a fire ball out of my hand at my bed and set the bed on fire. I tried to tell my parents what happened but they never believed me. They thought I was acting out. When I turned sixteen. I woke up as a wolf. From there it's been one thing after another. I've tried to understand why I'm like this you know. I've read everything there is to know on Google. I've ordered books off the internet. I've gone to all sorts of libraries. I've even travelled for a year following Blogs of conspiracy theories who believed they saw people with power. The only place I came across was a place in Japan. There was talk of people being able to control the elements. I went there and lived in a village for a month listening to stories of great warriors. Who used power over the elements to defend their home. Though I didn't know if they were stories or not. I left and came home. Having to just deal with it. Since then I've just give up. I was settling into my life of never having answers. I got a job and started studying. I met a guy. Dean. We've been dating for two years now and we got engaged six months ago..... But I've always felt like something was missing. I've always felt unsettled in my life like I didn't belong there until I saw you stood there last night. I don't know. I guess it's why I didn't put up much of a fight. I saw that man float and I needed to know if he was like me....." I couldn't believe any of this. Her having powers changed everything we believed in. If a child of two humans could have powers and more than one at that. How many more were out there? Did the House of Orpheus know? Was that why Easton started a war? Maybe he knew this. He said there was more to everything than we knew. Then he left. He said that we were blind by the Magna's who were controlling our minds and making the World of Mageia theirs. That was his main thing. That the Magna's were ruling over us without us even knowing. Maybe they were.

"Show me something you can do...." She looked panicked. "The Fire...." She lifted her hands up like she was terrified of them. Holding them out like they were going to reach up and strangle her. I smiled a little. "You really have no idea how to use it do you?" I saw that then. Right then as she started to shake. I could smell the fear. I could sense it too. Coming off her like a cloud of mist. She looked green. I moved closer to her and grabbed her right hand that was trembling. I looked down at it. "You said the wolf inside you reacts to the one inside me..." I blinked before I felt my eyes change Orange. I snapped my eyes open. She was looking at me. "Show me." I ordered with a dominance in my voice that would scare most. Not her. She closed her eyes slowly. I knew the moment she felt her wolf because mine in me wanted me to be closer to her. A growl slipped past me. She opened her eyes. They were bright Green. Glowing and looking right into my Orange one. I could smell her. I could smell the Meadowsweet and this time something else. It was desire. It was want. The same want I had to sink my teeth into her, she possesses it too. It was unsettling but in a wonderful way. I felt a dangerous need to claim her. I knew I was playing with Fire. I stepped back and blinked. I felt my normal eyes return. She dropped her eyes before her were back to normal also.

"You felt it?" She breathed as she kept her eyes down.

"I did." This was too much.

"Help me. Please." How? How was I going to help her? I don't even know how to help myself. How the hell was I going to help a human that had multiple powers?

We were screwed.
