CHAPTER 5: UNUSUAL DATE

She’s wearing a lilac dress with a pair of flat sandals. A light makeup paired with a necklace with a tiny infinity pendant. She looks simple but perfect. Her hair is on braids again and it suits her well. She presented herself to DK, “How do I look?” she shyly asked. DK looked at her from head to toe, “You look lovely” he answered with a wide smile. He stood up and went near her; he gently caressed her hair and said, “I think you’re missing something”.

Joanna’s eyebrows raised. DK pulled out a small box in his pocket. He opened it and it showed a pair of earrings that is designed with sun. “This looks good. What does it mean?” she asked with a wide smile on her face. DK replied, “Remember the first time I confessed? The sun is still rising at that moment. And when it finally shone, I know you’re the one”.

DK pulled one and placed it to Joanna’s piercing. “Funny how you know to do that” Joanna chuckled. “Yeah, it’s not that hard” DK replied while gently locking the earring to Joanna’s piercing. Their smiles are so priceless. DK held her hand after placing the earrings to her. “So, let’s go to the festival?” he asked. Joanna nodded and allowed him to hold her hand along the way.

DK still held it even inside his car. He occasionally places a kiss whenever he wanted to. “You already made a lot of moves, DK” she commented. DK looked at her, “Sorry, it just feels so nice to do that every time” he answered with a smile. They reached their destination – it’s a church. DK opened the car door and assisted Joanna to go outside. “Woah, what are we doing here?” she asked.

“I am going to marry you” he jokingly said. She smacked DK’s arm again. They both chuckled. “No, seriously what are we doing here?” she asked the second time around. “It’s Sinulog Festival today. It’s not a usual date. Everyone’s here today, even the restaurants are closed” he replied. Joanna nodded, “I didn’t know that you are religious” she said while chuckling. “Yeah, I’m not. Just trying out something new. We can change venues if you don’t want it here” he said.

“No, this one’s good. I’ve been losing faith nowadays. Thanks for this” she replied. She pulled him inside the church and lighted up a candle. She shared the fire of her candle to his. They placed it in the middle of their palms and wished. DK glanced at her – she who’s closing her eyes and having a deep wish. He did the same and wished for himself – that he won’t ever get tired of their bond.

They placed their candles on the water making it float. Joanna held hands with DK while going outside. “So, what did you wish for?” she asked. DK smirked, “Don’t you know that if you reveal your wish, it won’t come true?” he answered. “Hmm… I don’t believe that but if you say so…” she replied.

The two were appreciating the garden when a thunder suddenly growled. Just as quickly, the rain started to pour. The two ran towards the car but when they got there, they are already wet. DK chuckled while caressing Joanna’s hair. “It’s a wrong timing after all” he said. Joanna chuckled also, “But I enjoyed even it only took us half an hour to have this date” she said.

The two went inside the car and retreated back to Joanna’s house. The rain is still pouring hard. “Take off your clothes. I’ll put them in the dryer” she said. She handed him some man clothes that made him ask, “Who owns this?”. “Oh, that’s my cousin’s. He uses that whenever he wants to sleepover” she answered. DK nodded while unbuttoning his clothes again.

Joanna gave him a towel and said, “Go take a warm bath. I don’t want you to get sick”. DK received it and did what she said. He asked in return, “Won’t you take a warm bath? Do you want me to get worried?”. Joanna replied, “Yeah, but you first”. DK naughtily smiled, “No, I won’t allow that” he said.

He pulled her close. Her heart started beating fast; DK is only wearing the towel she gave him. “DK, isn’t it too fast?” she asked. DK didn’t manage to utter a word but instead, he kissed her neck passionately. It’s only him and her with the dryer machine noises in the house. She easily gave in; for a first timer she craved for the experience.

DK removed Joanna’s dress and she’s now wearing only her underwear. He turned on the shower and felt the warm waters touching their skin. Their lips were still intertwining; getting deeper and deeper in a stormy morning. It’s a cuddle weather after all. They continued kissing until DK unbuckled Joanna’s bra straps. He owned her chest while having it in his hands. He never thought it would size like this.

The two made their way to Joanna’s room, still kissing with the shower waters dripping from their bodies. He pulled down Joanna’s panty while she removed the towel wrapped on DK’s waist. DK is on top of her and every move he makes wants her to ask for more. DK got distracted with the thing placed on Joanna’s bedside table.

It is a bottle of contraceptive pills. “Do you take those?” he asked. Joanna nodded and continued kissing DK’s lips. He went down there and owned it. Joanna saw DK’s v-line again but now, it’s the length she’s focusing on. She’s a virgin while he isn’t. She’s a fool giving it to her but she knows that first experiences are great experiences.

DK played with her womanhood until she reached her maximum. He quickly went inside her. Every move is painful for her but she got used to it. DK owns a big one and just like in the movies, it really felt uncomfortable at first. She placed DK on bottom and started playing his. DK’s breathing started to get deeper, “Damn… you’re wild” he said. The lust they both shared lasted for about an hour or so.

DK finished it inside her. Now they’re both tired after doing it. DK never had a time like this for months already and it made him satisfied after doing it with her. The cold weather together with the air conditioner’s temperature were none compared to the heat and tension they shared.

When DK woke up, it’s already dark outside. The rain is still pouring and Joanna is still sleeping tight. He pulled up the sheets to cover her naked body. He took the warm shower and got changed to cook for dinner. It’s past six p.m. and he’s starving. He looked around and found almost every ingredient he needs to use. He plans to cook menestra de verduras palentina – a Spanish stew.

While chopping the herbs, he reminisced every move they made earlier. He smiled in contentment while reminiscing. Minutes before the stew is cooked, Joanna went outside with the blanket covering her naked body. She sighed in relief after seeing DK cooking something in the kitchen. “What’s with the sigh?” he asked. Joanna replied, “I thought you already left me after getting what you want”.

He caressed her unbrushed hair, “I’m not like those guys”. He placed a kiss on her forehead. “Go take a shower. The stew is almost cooked” he said. Joanna nodded and made her way to the bathroom. DK noticed a small stain of blood in the white blanket. “Sh*t, it’s her first” he said in his mind.

They are having a dinner when DK noticed that Joanna can’t look at him in the eye. “Is there something you’re bothered about?” he asked all of a sudden. Joanna shrugged, “It’s just that… I already know how s*x feels” she replied. DK smirked, “It’s alright. We’re safe, right?” he said to calm things up.

When they finished eating the warm stew DK made, he presented to wash the dishes. “No, it’s my house and I can’t let a visitor do the chore” she said. DK pulled the used dishes to his, “I insist. I know you’re tired and I also know that it hurts down there” he said and looked at Joanna’s center. He brought the dishes to the sink and went back near her to carry her to her room. The sheets were already dry and changed.

“What are you doing? Put me down, I can still walk” Joanna said. DK sighed, “Yeah you still can walk but I know it hurts. Trust me on this and have a good sleep” he replied. Her arms clung to DK’s neck, “You won’t leave me, right? The road is slippery. Might as well stay for the night here” she said. DK chuckled, “I’m not leaving. I’ll stay for the night” he replied and placed her to the bed while tucking up the sheets.

He was about to go back to the kitchen when Joanna uttered, “Babe”. DK froze at the moment; a wide eye gaze made his reaction look unidentified. He turned around and replied, “Babe?”. Joanna laughed a bit and gave him a pillow and a blanket. “We already slept together but you should know that you’ll spend the night in the sofa” she said. DK laughed, “Alright, Miss conservative… I mean, babe” he said and winked.

Their hearts are happy. Their relationship flows smoothly without distractions facing their ways. His hopes were for them to last. Her wish is to make DK her forever. They saw each other’s uphill but they are failing in knowing each’s downhills.
